0 0 0 0 0 0 Relocation Sale, No Reserve Because of a career promotion, I will be relocating to the west coast and will not have the capacity to properly store and take care of my loved cars I have accumulated over time. Unfortunately I will painfully consider selling most of my 13 cars to someone’s lucky benefit. I have included a picture of some of the cars taken on the front lawn of my house. They will go up for sale shortly on eBay and other classified listings. Please check my other eBay listings, as I will be willing to make a package deal for some or all. 1988 Alfa Romeo Spider Graduate roadster with optional 15” alloy wheels. When I purchased her she had 77k miles on the odometer but the odometer has since stopped working. The Owner stated that those were the original miles at the time it was parked. I have driven it less than 1K since my purchase. The limited wear on the clutch and brake peddles, shifter knob and steering wheel lead me to confirm the previous owners odometer statement. Sadly he told me the story that the Alfa was his wife’s car that she dearly loved and cared for. She battled with cancer for 2 years and finally lost. He let the car sit for 1 year not knowing what to do. Finally and sentimentally he conceded to sell her Alfa to me as it brought him too many memories every time he look at it. I purchased it in “as is” condition. I took it to my specialized master Alfa mechanic in Chattanooga, TN. As soon as he saw it he recognized the car as Mrs. X’s Alfa, he had worked on locally since new. He carefully proceeded to revive her life with a new battery and restoring the fuel system, which included draining and resealing the fuel tank to as new condition. He also put a new fuel pump, sending unit, tune –up , oil change and filters along with many other parts I can’t remember now. The bill was around $1500 but well worth it as he said it was one of the “best running Alfas he has ever worked on”(65y/o pro alfa mechanic). I must confirm this is the best running Alfa spider of the three I have ever owned. I know most people won’t believe me when I say this. This Italian designed roadster with a 2.0L bosch fuel injection system (more reliable than the spica system) starts up with what seems like half a crank of the motor and runs like a tuned performance sewing machine. No smoke, rattles and noises of any kind. It just doesn’t get any better than this mechanically. She accelerates smoothly and drives at cruising speed very, very smoothly. I am really impressed with the way this car drives and handles. I love it. Not a performance animal but solid and fun European driving dynamics in everyway. I have not checked the gas mileage on this one but my last Alfa Romeo spider sipped on fuel with over 30 mpg on the road. Alfas are very economical to drive with today’s high fuel prices. A car you can actually drive without feeling horrible at the fuel station. With all that said she is not perfect and needs a little TLC and time that I can’t give her at the moment. The red paint is very shinny, presentable driver quality but could use touch up in the drive’s quarter panel. Hopefully pictures will show that that upper quarter panel area only has clear coat deterioration. All the body panels are rust free including the inner trunk area except for an area of rust on the lower part of the rear valance panel. Otherwise the body panels are straight and free from dents. The chrome around the headlight bezels is faded. The convertible top appears very presentable (no tears or bad stitching) but the interior headliner is totally gone. It does come with a boot to cover it when the top is folded down. Overall almost everyone who looks at the car comments on how much they love it. The interior is original with some flaws. The larger gauges work but some of the smaller ones do not work. The dash is in decent shape but there is a little trim bezel around the center console switches that is cracked. I was planning on replacing it so I am including the purchased part with the sale of car. Needs a new shifter boot. The seats are not worn out but there are two tears on the drivers seat. The carpet is original but is totally faded. Overall, the interior is the area that needs the most TLC but I find interior work the easiest and most cost effective of repairs compared to paint, bodywork and mechanical repairs. Widely regarded as a designer classic, these Alfa spiders remained largely untouched for almost three decades with only minor cosmetic and mechanical changes. This is one of my favorite cars in my collection. This little Italian red head stirs a lot of emotions and passions every time I drive her. She is a cheap yet classy date making her a true classic sports car value. I simply love it and hope the next owner will give her the proper TLC she needs to return her to her previous glory. She is a fun to drive, appreciating in value classic that should be seriously considered in your garage or collection. This is one of the few cars that I have not registered in my name and therefore she comes with an open title. All the cars will be sold in “as is condition” as they are not in perfect condition and are older classic vehicles. Please ask all questions before bidding or making an offer. I will be happy to answer all questions or take additional pictures as needed or If you prefer to arrange an inspection please contact me and I will try to accommodate request ASAP, sometimes with a little delay as I work in surgery. I also will try to be of reasonable help if you need to store her for a short time while you arrange to come drive her home or ship her back home. Please check my 100% feedback as I have tried to be honest in all my dealings. The cars will be listed locally as well. Thank you for consideration as a serious buyer. Mike On Apr-19-13 at 11:10:24 PDT, seller added the following information: We had a big rain storm all night and morning today and the alfa sat outside for the first time since I've owned it. I was dissapointed to find moisture or some water drops on the inside of the interior. I want to make clear that the Alfa will probably need a new top soon if you plan to store it outside. feel free to retract the bids if you feel uncomfortable with this. Any questions please contact me and I will be happy to answer them. I have another Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce that I will sell very inexpensive if you would like a solid running parts car or restoration project.
