Vehicle Detail
Hello before I begin I just want to say that there is a LIEN ON THE CAR for $1,370.36 I am asking $1,500.00 and this is a buy it now NON Negotiable Price. Now Here's the Description. Well Never thought I'd see ONE MAN'S DREAM come to an end but... Here it is Ladies and Gentlemen 1992 firebird with some Knight Rider parts. The car for the most part runs and drives fine it just looks terrible from the unprofessional paint job that was done to it. From a distance it's not bad but close up it's....yeah... Need I say more... The car has had damage from after finding the damage by stripping the paint off both of the doors. The front drivers side fender has a small dent in it but not as clear as the nose on your face as the dents on the doors. If I had known that after grinding the paint down to the bare metal and finding bondo on the doors and the dents beyond the bondo, I probably wouldn't of taken on such a project but I hated the color of the original paint the Teal Green. I could not afford a "REAL" paint job so I bought a few cans of tractor/implement gloss black paint and used a roller and a paint brush.. Well the results weren't too bad for the first go round but every year since I've had the car the paint would fade so I would go back over the top of the paint with more paint and I'd get tired of using a roller all the time and would revert to the paint brush. Now onward and upward, the engine for the most part is pretty sound but there's an exhaust manifold leak on the passenger side. I bought a gasket kit but it was mostly for the plenum and the throttle body, those gaskets under the plenum and the throttle body gasket behind it and butted up against the front of the plenum were old. The plenum itself was pulled from a camaro with the same engine. So I guess you could say that this car is NOT all Matching Numbers The Manifold and intake gaskets will go with the car.. The car could also use a new timing chain and timing gear for fear that the car may not run much longer with the existing timing chain and gear since they haven 't been changed when the car hit 100,000 miles, I'm not saying that the car won't run for you after you buy it, I'm just saying that it's time that the timing chain and gear were changed out so that it doesn't happen to die. Yes the car has over 162K on the engine and body.162477and 3 tenths to be exact. The car from the previous owner had been to Tennessee and back and I've taken it on 3 hour and 5 hour drives in the past several times over. I've been so busy this year that I haven't really taken the car on a long drive but I can tell you that the car IF it has a good tune up, spark plug wires, plugs, cap and rotor, new air filter, oil and possibly a new set of fuel injectors and a full tank of gas, will get you 17 MPG in town and 28 MPG on the highway. The car does have the 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive and has a slight leak from the front seal, if you check the fluid periodically you'll be fine. The car burns oil from the back of the block possible rear main seal going out. I can never find any oil on the ground but you can sure smell it but when I check the oil it doesn't seem to be burning much because the oil on the dipstick shows normal range so not sure what the deal is? The windshield wiper motor stopped working and I had to replace the motor come to find out that the pulse board that is found on the top of the motor where 5 or 6 wires go into it is shot and needs to be replaced. I never replaced the pulse board because you can only get the pulse board through a dealership or take a chance and buy a used motor with a pulse board attached and maybe find out that the motor is not good. The wires from the multifunction switch that works the speed of the wipers inside the car were replaced along with the switch as well. The windshield will need to be replaced it's cracked in several places, it doesn't bother the driver's view but it should be replaced reguardless. The interrior is a lot better looking than the outside for sure. I have purchased from Rob Louisell one of the main builders of Knight Rider Replicas, the following: Front season 1/2 bumper with black outs that will need to be replaced, I hit a phesant and one of the blackouts had shattered and I replaced the black out with a black out that I had on the car previously and one of the corners broke so it's mounted on the car but probably not as good as it should. I have also bought from Rob the Gull Wing Steering wheel. It did have a lighted horn button on the car and it lighted just fine but after removing the existing Wheel that was on the car and replacing it with the Gull Wing, I couldn't honk my horn for some reason so I pulled the horn button off and now just use a toggle switch for the horn and the toggle is on the Dash. The dash is from Ioffer a sister to ebay. The front bumper and Gull Wing cost me 1,900.00 and the dash cost me 650.00 I couldn't find the receipts for these but if you look up Rob Lousell and Ioffer you'll know that I'm not lying about these Items. There is a black out on the back of the car as well I forgot to mention. The light bar on the front of the car doesn't work too well but the controller works great. The seats inside are NOT PMD's But I pulled them from a Ford Astro Van. They do NOT fold forward so if you have someone who wants to ride in the back you'll have to move the seats all the way forward and hope that your passenger's aren't really heavy set or you might have to get the jaws of life to get them out, NO OFFENSE. The seats are tan though, the back split seats came from a 1984 Trans Am and are black. The passenger floor mat is fastened to the floor pan with contact cement. I was going to do it with the driver's side as well but didn't get to it.. but both say Knight Rider as you can see in one of my pictures. I'm sorry the Odometer pic is not clear but it does say 162477 and 3 tenths I assure you . Lights work and go up and down without help, the driver's window goes up and down but needs new railings and the driver's mirror doesn't move up or down or side to side. It needs a new kit with the cork screw gears to make it function properly. The passenger window will not go down it needs a new window motor...The T-Top doesn't leak but the windows do on the front driver's side and the back passenger side. The other Knight Rider options I have on the car are KARR's voicebox and a countdown above it. What I hate about replicas the most is that they don't NOT show you how to properly install these Knight Rider parts so I just want to warn everyone reading this that it doesn't look really professional but it's Knight Rider just the same.. I do have the switch pods on each side of the Gull Wing Removed and they are in the back seat of the car. I don't have them lighted it's just a dummy set. Sadly the best feature of the car is the Tires. They are like new with about 80 to 85 % tread life to them and they do have the bowling ball hub caps that will go with the car as well as the rims. I have over $3,000.00 into the car but willing to sacrifice for the price of the Lien on the car. Yes there's a $1,370.36 Lien on the car and that's the amount owed today. You may buy the car now for $1,500.00 and the Lien Release will go with the title the same day as I receive your paymement . I think that's a fair price after all it's going to pay off the loan and also my fees for listing the car on ebay. I'll only except payment on Paypal with a credit card or cash or a certiftified check that must clear the bank. NO SCAMMERS and I WILL NOT SHIP OVERSEAS. I require $500.00 deposit upon bid . Balance can be paid at pickup or when I see funds in my paypal account. I expect the payment or pickup within 7 days from purchase. The car is being sold as is where is and I have a right to cancel this sale early if the car sells locally it's also being advertised on USAA.COM. I will NOT Help with Shipping you'll have to come get the car on your own. If you have other questions please send me a message and I'll try to accomodate you as much as I can. My Loss again is Your gain. I just want to mention also that the car does come with a stereo cd player but the cd player has a small issue where the faceplate release is broke and semi glued to the deck it has connection and you can play a cd or a mp3 unit but the radio at this time doesn't get good reception.. It needs to be fixed which means taking the deck apart and fixing the spring release. The wheels are 14's and I can't remember the tire size. Just a couple things I wanted to mention. For Further details I can be reached by text at 406-654-4391, or email franklinmorin99@yahoo.com My name is Frank. Thanks for viewing my car and good luck.
