Vehicle Detail

I rescued this 1979 Scout II from Lake Havasu, Arizona. It was purchased in Phoenix by the original owner who had trouble with the motor and pulled it out. He kept it covered up since 1992. I bought it and shipped it from Arizona to Tennessee. I found a low mileage factory 345 from a Traveler and had all the gaskets redone and added all new accessories. Everything is done right. I put everything back just like it was in the factory including the factory AC that works perfectly. Everything is new with the exception of the block, heads, covers, power steering pump. This engine has really good power with the Edelbrock Carb with an electric choke. This Scout drives straight down the road and is smooth as silk due to a rebuilt 727 Transmission and Dana 20 Transfer Case. This Scout will do 100 MPH easy and cruises at 70 MPH. (the first one I've had that does not wander at all) The front and read Dana 44's are in great shape. I put new Rancho 9000 Shocks all the way around on its stock suspension. New BF Goodrich AT Tires on stock wheels. The spare is the same wheel. This is one of the nicest original bodies I have ever seen on a Scout II. It contained no rust since Lake Havasu has 5% humidity. Many Scouts look nice but have been cut and welded on and painted at some point. The paint stripes and everything is factory. Everything works on this vehicle however the fuel gauge shows half full when it is indeed full. I put a new sending unit in and I think Super Scouts may have sent me a defective unit. As the tank drop to a quarter tank, the gauge show empty. I consider this my reserve. The interior is really awesome with new covered seats and carpet that helps keep it quiet inside. I did put a new Retro Radio in and front and rear Rockford Fosgate Punch Speakers that sound nice. You can also plug in your iPod, iPhone, iPad or MP3. This Scout does have a few dings here and there from normal use. The bed has some scratches. There is some surface rust on the lower parts of the vehicle, but only from gravel and such. The exterior is all original except for the Chevy mirrors someone put on there. The Scout has all new weather strip all the way around. The vent window have nice rubber. There is so much to say about this Scout so please if you are very interested, call me and I will give you more details. My phone number is 865-983-1947. Thanks for looking. I will assist with shipping but it is the buyers responsibility. I encourage you to inspect the vehicle. AS IS, NO WARRANTY. NO REFUNDS $500 non-refundable deposit via paypal within 48 hours. Pick up within 10 days unless other arrangements are made.
