Up for your consideration is a rare 1982 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Diesel. This was a one year only combination in the United States. I purchased the car off the original owners who also resided here in the Pacific Northwest so it's a very solid car. Although this Westy is not perfect it is a very clean and well cared for example and presents itself very well. Gas mileage is very impressive, especially considering what it is capable of. It starts right up every time and runs very smooth and quite for a diesel. It's a VERY solid driver. I wouldn't hesitate for a second driving this across the country. Unfortunately I just don't have the time I thought I would to really enjoy it so it's time for someone else to take charge. 1982 VW Westfalia Diesel Odometer reads 196,550 MilesOriginal unpainted top1.6L diesel Recent injector pump rebuild Upgraded seals and o rings for bio-dieselNew alternator Timing belt done at the time of pump rebuildNew shocks all aroundNew valve cover gasketJust buffed/polished and waxed with 2 coats Purchased from original owner's familyClean very solid bodyRuns, stops and drives great (no strange noises, grinds etc)Transmission shifts perfectlyClutch is smooth and grabs like new New front brakes (brand new rotors, pads etc)All new top sealsComplete interior in nice shapeWorking refrigerator (tested ac and propane)Working stoveBelieve to be original paint (I was told there has never been any paint or body work done by previous owner)All seals are good with zero water leaks (interior is bone dry and has always been)Original curtains are in great shape and also includes the front wrap around privacy curtainOriginal owners manuals including many Westfalia options manualsNo MOLD!Included is a set of new radiator hosesOEM Jack and lug wrench Cons:So there are no surprises I'm being very critical with all it's flaws. Slight water leak at water facet joint only when on (o ring?)Faucet base repaired by previous owner (see pic)Water leak where water hose attaches to faucet (I'm not sure if there should be a regulator to lower the water pressure from the hose, I have high water pressure at my house)Windshield crackedFlaws in top (few small holes, stains, front mesh has holes, zipper broken)Antenna missingPictured body flawsSun visor clips missingMissing windshield wiper bolt cap on one wiper Most of the interior wall paper which is known for delaminating has been removed (use as is, the natural wood honestly doesn't look bad or it is ready for you to install wall paper or vinyl of your choice)Drivers and pass seats need new padding on the back rests (it feels like there's just springs)Patch on drivers seat bolster which is currently covered You have to manually hold the lock up to open the side slider doorWear on drivers side carpet I have a few videos of the car starting/running/driving.
