Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a used 1999 Subaru Legacy L 30th Anniversary edition 4 door sedan with the following options: All Wheel Drive - Works great. No known issues. Mileage is approximate. The speedometer works most of the time. I would recommend fixing, but I never bothered with it. Probably a loose connection or bad ground on speedo sensor. I say 250,000 miles, but that is a close approximation. I bought this vehicle with 154,000 miles on it 5 years ago and I average about the right miles to say it has 250,000. The odometer reads 199,6XX. Also, the engine was replaced with a used engine just prior to me purchasing it in 2008. The engine that is in it now has much fewer miles than the rest of the vehicle. 2.2 Liter H4 engine - Horizontally opposed cylinders, runs ok and is real clean on the engine internals. Oil changes less than every 3000 miles since 154000 miles. 4 decent tires. 2 of them purchased in the last 4 months, the other two about a year old. Tread is great on the newest two, acceptable for winter driving on the other two. Trunk carpet and cardboard support are a little eaten up. A car battery tipped over back there and stained the carpet. Ruined a good pair of boots, too. Alloy rims. Subaru stock alloy rims. Radio works fine, Antenna is stuck up, antenna assembly clicks on vehicle startup if radio is on. Only for a second, then it stops. Single CD player. I have used this plenty of times. Great sound, Plays recorded media just fine. No MP3. Power moonroof. The moonroof works fine. Sometimes sticks a little. The manually operated cover under it does not work real well. Open or shut are the best options. All exterior lights work fine. Passenger side rear window won't roll down. Switch at door is broken.Small puncture in passenger side of rear bumper - Can be seen in pictures.Tabs have been updated since the picture was taken and they are good until July 2013. Key is broken off in the driver's side door. I have 2 sets of 1 full length key and 1 broken key each. The broken keys work great for opening the driver's side door. The full length keys work on the passenger door and the trunk. The trunk is difficult to open. Brakes are in excellent working order. All pads were replaced (and rotors turned) in the last year. Comes with a spare tire (donut) and a jack with the hook tool as in the picture, but I could not find a tire iron that fits the wheel lug nuts. 17mm socket works well (I think it's a 17mm at least.) Tilt steering wheel, all three mirrors, power locks, working emergency brake, all standard airbags intact, Cruise control...All features work well. Wheel well covers in front wheel wells are missing the plastic splash guard. This has never been a problem for me. Exhaust is in good condition. Quieter than some vehicles of this year. I had to do a lot of work to bring it up to good condition and had the pleasure of learning how to weld and mend exhaust pipe, but now all is well with the exhaust. Still using factory exhaust hangers. Windshield has minor pitting and a few tiny chips. Chips are unnoticeable unless you really look for them. Vehicle has many PURELY COSMETIC blemishes as you can see in the pictures. Common on the Subaru's of this year are issues like the corrosion spot on the body between the bumper cover and the rear passenger side panel, under the fuel filler neck. I had the power steering pump under the reservoir replaced about a year ago, and the rear struts were replaced about 6 months ago. The left front brake caliper was replaced about a year and a half ago, and all engine compartment fluids were flushed and refilled about a year ago. About the same time, I also had the front inner and outer tie rod ends...both sides...replaced and had an alignment. May be willing to accept a reasonable offer. Call or text contact number for more info. I can't think of anything else to say about this vehicle. It runs well, pulls a tiny bit left...about a lane in 3/4 of a mile. The four wheel drive is excellent for getting around in the worst winter conditions. I wouldn't go back to a 2 wheel drive vehicle after owning this or my last Subaru Legacy. I'll probably purchase another Subaru Legacy in the future, on account of the years of smooth vehicle operation and reliability. This vehicle is completely road worthy, having driven me home from work over 700 miles straight without even a hiccup. This vehicle is ready to drive home regardless of where you live in the lower 48 US. Title is clean and current. Has plenty of power and fun to drive. Serious inquiries are encouraged to test drive. Every known problem has been disclosed here. Pricing is well below Kelly Blue Book private party value and reflects the POOR COSMETIC CONDITION. Please feel free to ask any questions, I will answer them if I'm able.
