He runs awesome (because he has a brand new 1600 single port eng , installed summer 2012)! These single cabs are very rare and when restored to stock can sell for upwards of 30k. I am asking $6500 OBO a very good price for this type of car and the work that has been put into it. The previous owner did some modifications to the bed, I am assuming because the original gates and bed were rusted. The wood rails are a pretty cool idea, but if your looking to get it back to original the metal ones can easily be purchased on the samba or ebay. Fern is mechanically (very) sound but does need body work. The floor is a temp sheet metal repair done very well and works great. You could leave it that way for years if need be, but because it is sheet metal the parking brake was not attached (its there just not hooked up) I use a little piece of wood under the tire if I’m on a hill, but normally there is no need for anything here in Florida. Overall the body is okay it has some rust but nothing cancerous. The frame is in good shape (no eaten out rust spots). Like I said he needs some cosmetics but mechanically he is great, he can be driven home with ease.
