Vehicle Detail
Having owned this 1970 XKE short door coupe (only 4855 made) since 1979 the owner is putting it up for sale. The car was re-painted in 1979 and the engine rebuild in 1983. At that time triple weber carbs, headers and mild isky street cams were added as well as adjustable front and rear sway bars and front Koni shocks. The body is straight and almost rust free with the exception of a small spot below the front of the RH rear bumper blade and the area around the floor plugs in the spare tire well (see pics). The rockers and floors are sound as well as the rest of the body. All the chrome is present and in good condition. Glass is good. There appears to be no signs of previous collision damage. Options include factory A/C (needs service), tinted glass and heated rear window. The interior is in decent condition. The leather seats are not hard or ripped, but show wear appropriated for the age of the car. Everything appears to work, with the exception of the A/C. This is a number matching car with a clear Washington state title. When we brought this Jaguar our of storage after 15 years, we installed a new battery, fuel pump, clutch hydraulics, rebuilt the front brakes and put on five new 205VR15 Michelin tires. It is drivable as is but should be repainted (there are chips and other flaws in the 30 plus year old paint). We see no reason the successful buyer could not drive this car home. If you are an international buyer, we have a freight forwarder (seapacservice.com) within a mile of our business and we will deliver the car to them at no cost to the successful bidder if that person requests us to do so. Sea-pac can pack the vehicle in a 20' container and prepare export documents as well as arrange shipping to various ports through out the world. The last time we checked the approximate cost to ship a car to Hall or Southampton, UK was around $3,500.00. We are in the process of selling off 40 to 50 older English Cars from the 1960's and 1970's. Most are MG, TR or Jaguar. Nothing older than 1962. Wait for coming auctions on E-bay. If you have zero feedbacks, multiple bid retractions, or you failed to complete a sale after being the winning bidder, contact us before bidding or your bid may be rejected. We had a bad experience with "zero feedback" "gaetanomastrangelo123" who bid up well qualified buyers and then re-niged on the sale, requiring us to re-list the this car. Remember high bidder must make a $1000 deposit through paypal within 24 hours after close of auction and full payment is due in seven days by bank wire. Have your funds secured before bidding. If you have any questions, E-mail us through E-bay or call us at 206 936 0872. If you wish to inspect the car in person, we are open Mon-Friday 8:30-5:30 PDT at 2938 SW Avalon Way, Seattle WA .
