Hello, let me start by saying that I realize how stressful it can be to buy anything sight un-seen. I don't think a paragraph & 1 or 2 pictures is enough to accurately describe an item of any kind, let alone a motor vehicle. I understand that you may be in a different state or even a different Country & therefore are unable to come view this Dodge in person. I want you to know everything I know about anything I offer for sale. For that reason, my postings tend to be a little on the long side. I also post 24 super sized pictures. I have sold diesel trucks to buyers all over the world. All members who have bought diesels from me have been extremely pleased with my performance & the items they have purchased from me, I'm sure you will be as well. Description- These days it seems like no one can build a new diesel pick-up that you can depend on. Every diesel from Ford, Chevrolet & Dodge have MAJOR problems that make the trucks unreliable & expensive to keep running. So those of us who have been through the headache of owning a late model truck are going back to the tried & trued, always ready to work, never let you down, run forever.... 5.9 liter Cummins powered Dodges! The problem is, most of the 5.9's have a million miles on them & are nearing the end of their useful lives. Or they are simply worn out from years of hard work. Or rusted out from salt exposure. BUT THIS ONE IS NONE OF THOSE THINGS! This 4wd 1-ton hauler has low miles, NO RUST & is ready to go to work! THIS IS A HARD TO FIND TRUCK.... WITH ALL THE RIGHT OPTIONS!!! Not many 5.9's like this anymore! This truck was ordered with the right equipment.... 1st, a 5.9 liter, 24-valve, electronically injected, in-line 6-cylinder, Cummins Turbo Diesel engine... Next the Heavy Duty, 2nd generation, NV4500 5-Speed Manual Transmission... 4X4 stick in the floor transfer case... Straight front axle... Auto locking hubs... 3:55 gears with anti-spin differential etc... THIS TRUCK IS BUILT TO LAST & GET THE JOB DONE! It's tough, however, this vehicle was also ordered with options that provide the driver with comfort as they work. Like cloth split bench / bucket seating which are fully adjustable & independent of one another, complete with fold down center console up front... & full bench seat in rear that folds up flat to allow for tons of dry, secure, storage inside the cab. Plus this RAM has tilt steering & cruise control... Power windows & door locks... ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING & TOASTY WARM HEAT!!!! This Dodge has the "access cab" which means that the rear seat is accessed via suicide style rear doors. This makes entering & exiting the vehicle a breeze for the rear seat passengers! This big hauler will accommodate 6 adults comfortably. Best of all... this is a true SOUTHERN vehicle which has spent it's entire life here in Georgia & as such, is TOTALLY RUST FREE!!!!!! This hauling monster was owned by a local auto auction for the last few years. They used it to pull a 3-car trailer to & from car dealerships in the area. This was not a daily event. However, the truck was kept in tip top mechanical & condition so that when it was needed.... they were ready to hit the key & go in a clean, professional looking, dependable & highly capable vehicle. The auction recently partnered with a local wrecker service & now contracts with them to transport all the auction inventory. They no longer needed this beast of a Dodge & I was lucky enough to purchase it from the auction's owner before they ever ran it through the lane. I planned to put a driver in the truck transporting vehicles for eBay customers but have not had time to devote to setting up that part of my business & am now being forced to move & need to free up some money & space. I had planned to keep this SUPER STRONG haul truck forever. But things change so here it is with NO RESERVE! Don't miss it! These trucks are extremely hard to find!!! DRIVETRAIN- This truck is powered by the legendary Cummins 5.9 liter in-line 6-cylinder turbo diesel. In my opinion, these are among the best engines ever put into a pickup truck. They have all the power you could ever want for all of your towing needs. They get extraordinarily good fuel mileage. They are low maintenance & are known for their longevity. It is not uncommon to see a 5.9's going strong after 700,000 miles. The Cummins in this RAM3500 is strong. It starts easily. Just let the glow plug light go off & hit the key. The engine fires right up every time. This diesel will run all day without missing a beat. It does not skip, stumble, shake, shutter etc... It does not overheat & runs great oil pressure at operation temperature. There is absolutely no blow-by & I see no fluid leaks. With only 177,000 miles this diesel truly is just getting broken in. There have been several performance modifications made to this vehicle. From the Caterpillar Dozer air cleaner... to the straight piped exhaust with single stack... to the Edge Attitude Controller... This truck was built to pull hard! The Heavy Duty 5-speed manual transmission is tight, quiet & shifts just as it should in every gear. No syncro problems. No gear mesh problems. NO PROBLEMS! This is the latest version of the NV4500. This version does not have the 5-th gear retaining nut problem that was common with the earlier transmissions. These 5-spds are super tough! I personally like this transmission far better than the other two options Dodge offered in this truck. The available automatics where very problematic & weak. The other option was a 6-speed Manual. Those transmissions are prone to gear mesh problems & are very expensive to work on. The 6-speed trucks are sought after due to the H.O. (high output) 5.9 liter engine only found in the 6-speed trucks... However, the engine internals are exactly the same as those found in an other 24-valve 5.9 Cummins. The performance difference is generated by a hotter tune in the H.O.'s computer & a few other small things. The performance mods found on this Big Black Hauler make the H.O. mods a mute point... The four wheel drive transfer case also works just as it should. You can shift between 4wd Hi, 4wd Lo, N & 2wd with ease. This Dodge has the transfer case stick in the floor so you KNOW exactly which range you are in... (unlike the vacuum operated / switch on the dash models which always seem to let you down while you are in the mud, at night, in the pouring down rain!) On this Dodge, you know all 6 tires are pulling. You will have a hard time getting this truck stuck. Both the front & rear differentials feel nice & tight. They are both quiet & work as they should. This truck is equipped with the optional limited slip (anti-spen) rear end that is completely smooth & quiet. 3:55 gears insure that this baby semi truck will cruise down the freeway at low RPM's! Less wear on the engine & LESS FUEL CONSUMPTION! I recently replaced the power steering gear box with a brand new unit from Dodge. I also replaced all four shock absorbers with brand new gas adjust shocks. All of the steering & suspension components now feel nice & tight. The truck holds the road well. No dipping, darting or wondering around. The tires all have 70-80% tread life remaining! They are all matching & have a nice straight road tread which provides you with a smooth, quiet ride. There is no feathering, cupping, cracking & all are wearing evenly. The brakes do not pulsate & stop this big truck straight & true. There is a nice trailer brake controller in the cab. The auction's owner told me that this truck was always serviced at the local Dodge dealership & anything that it needed... it got. Mechanically this entire truck seems to be in excellent condition. BODY & PAINT- The paint was obviously not a big concern to the auction. They had a very in expensive, mat black paint job put on the vehicle. It is not black primer. It is a low gloss enamel which does not hold finger prints like primer would. It is all black! Everything is black! The bed, the cab, the bumper, the grille, the grille guard, the emblems, the door jams... EVERYTHING! The only thing that was not painted mat black was the under side of the hood, which still retains it's factory silver paint. There is nothing chrome or shinny on this RAM. It's is a stealth-like, mean looking, massive, haul truck. Even the factory steel wheels were blacked out. The truck does have a few dents & dings but nothing major. It has a completely clean AutoCheck / CarFax! No accidents! No title problems! Guaranteed mileage! Always here in GA! This truck is nice & tight.... No door drop.... No play in the hinges.... Everything lines up straight.... All of the auction lettering is stick-on & should come off with ease! INTERIOR & OPTIONS- This truck was built to work, but it was ordered with power options. It is equipped with power windows & locks. Tilt & cruise. Carpet. Gray cloth seat upholstery. Everything is VERY clean & shows little to no wear! There are NO rips or tears in the seats. No worn spots or rips in the floor covering. No cracked plastic trim. There are no odors or unpleasant smells. The door panels are nice. The headliner is nice. The dash is nice (for a Dodge). It is easy to tell that this truck has been cared. This Dodge has WORKING after market dual fuel tanks for long hauling. Each has it's own up-graded lift pump & spin-on fuel filter to insure that this Dodge NEVER has an injection pump failure... which is one of the few problems that sometimes happen on the Dodges. It is caused by poor fuel filtration & low fuel pressure. This Dodge has the necessary improvements to prevent the problem from ever occurring to this truck! There are no cracks in the windshield or any of the other glasses or mirrors. HAULER BODY- The hauler body on this RAM is VERY well built & VERY heavy duty! It is obviously custom built for this truck. The deck & sides are nearly twice as thick as some of the hauler beds I have owned in the past. This body was built to last forever! The deck measures 7.5 feet wide by 11 feet long & is steel plate. This bed has many very nice features such as, recessed gooseneck ball, headache rack with expanded metal window protector, rear receiver hitch, trailer brake/light plug, side lighting & rear led lighting. The bed does have a couple of dents from use. All could be easily straightened. There is no rust through but there were some shallow pits in the metal from previous surface rust due to a low quality paint job when the bed was originally installed. These are tiny & very minor. Nowhere near rusting through the super thick steel this bed was built from. It now has fresh paint. It looks great & should last for many many years to come. This bed is ready for any kind of work you need to do! TITLE- I have a clean, clear, fully transferable title on this Dodge. I own a small street rod shop & in order to purchase this truck on the spot, I had to buy it in my business name. This means that the sale is just like that on one of my streetrods & will be made through my dealership. If you are an out of state resident you will ONLY pay your winning eBay bid amount. You are exempt from GA state fees & taxes. However, if you are a GA resident I MUST COLLECT THE NEW TAVT FEE & pay it to the state on your behalf. The fee amount will be 6.5% of the State's Determined Value for this vehicle. This fee replaces the sales tax which GA residents are accustom to paying. It has nothing to do with the selling price. I estimate the TAVT fee on this Dodge to be $400 +/-. This is a new way GA is taxing it's residents on motor vehicle sales. No longer will you pay sales tax from dealers & no tax from private sellers. Starting March 1st of this year, you now will pay 6.5% of the States Determined Value of the vehicle... no mater who you buy it from. If you buy from a dealer, you pay the fee to the dealer & they remit it to the State Of GA on your behalf when they process the title into your name. If you buy from a private seller, you pay the same exact 6.5% fee to the tag office when you put the title in your name. If you buy out of state, you pay the 6.5% fee when you title the vehicle in GA. It doesn't matter if you pay $10,000 for the vehicle or $10 for the vehicle. It doesn't even matter if the vehicle was given to you as a gift... YOU WILL PAY THE STATE OF GA 6.5% OF THEIR DETERMINED VALUE FOR THAT VEHICLE... It doesn't matter what county you live in... If you live in GA you will be paying that 6.5% fee on any vehicle you buy from now forward. However, you will no longer be required to pay an annual advolorum tax on any vehicle you purchase from March 1st of this year forward. So the cost of your vehicle tag will be far less. Again, this ONLY APPLIES TO GA RESIDENTS. This DOES NOT AFFECT OUT OF STATE PUCHASERS AT ALL. You are exempt from any GA fees & will pay ONLY your winning bid amount. The changes to the tax laws in GA will NOT affect you when you title this vehicle in your home state. I do not charge a DOC fee or any hidden fees. However, no matter where you live or how you choose to pay, the point of sell will be here in GEORGIA as that is where I live & where the vehicle is located. That way you will have no delay with customs as you drive the truck across the boarder. I was very fortunate to find this truck. I had planned to keep it forever but now need the money & space. This is one of those vehicles that doesn't come along very often. It is hard enough to find a clean 5.9 Cummins... but to find one equipped like this is nearly impossible! This extremely capable Dodge was built to handle the toughest jobs & because it is a low mile, straight axle, 4X4, Diesel... You know it's going to get the job done & get you back home, day after day, without all the b/s that happens to the newer trucks! A new truck can't compete with this 98 model. But a similarly equipped, NEW RAM3500, would cost you somewhere in the $50,000 range. This Dodge is not new but it is mechanically sound, structurally solid, properly finished out & ready to work! I am going to sell this amazing straight axle, Cummins powered, access cab, 4wd at a small fraction of new price. On Mar-26-13 at 16:30:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional Info- The flat bed on this big Dodge hauler measures 7.5 feet wide by 10 feet long. It is constructed of very thick steel. The smooth floor has a trap door in the center which hides the goose neck ball. This design keeps the deck nice & smooth when hauling cargo rather than a trailer. There is 1 inch lip running around the outside edge of the entire bed floor. This prevents heavy cargo from sliding off the edge. There is also a recessed channel running down either side of the bed, just under below floor level, which allows you to hook any size strap or chain to secure your cargo.
