CALLING ALL CLASSIC AND VINTAGE BMW CAR COLLECTORS!!! Looking for that rare find....well you have just found it!!! Up for sale is a Classic 1969 BMW 2000a (this model is a 2000, not the more common 2002). This car was a 1 owner car from 1969 to 2012, when I purchased it, and have put very few miles on it. It's 100% rust free and accident free. The original owner took excellent care of this vehicle and left it with multiple receipts & records dating back to the day he bought it. This classic vehicle also comes with the original Owner's Manual & window sticker. When I purchased the car, it had the original paint still on it with some sun fading, peeling, and minor door dings. Because I am a professional auto painter, I put a very nice original Florida Green paint job on it with a white top to add a bit of class. The chrome & brite work is in good to very good condition for being 44 years old with a couple of dings (see photos). The interior is also in excellent condition!!!! It has the original carpet which is in good condition. The seats, which look practically new, were recovered in the early 90s & have no rips or wear, but did have a little sun fading on the Velour...which I have since dyed back to brown. The dash has been recovered, and the headliner has a couple of tears in the headliner, but looks good overall. A brand new OEM BMW windshield was installed just days ago with new seals front and back. The other glass is in great shape with only a few minor scuffs or scratches. The door seals are in good shape, though the front driver's door has some tearing from getting in and out (see photos). The BMW has 99,294 original miles on the 2.0L engine & 3 speed auto transmission, which has no leaks and does not smoke. The prior owner had the head rebuilt and it looks like the engine was too, but not sure (it at least had all seals & gaskets replaced). In addition to the work listed above, I put in a new alternator, starter, brake booster and master cylinder, brake hoses, all new hoses and belts, fuel line, tires and tune up kit. The transmission has new seals and gaskets, as well. And I do have the smog pump for it, but didn't put it back on, so I don't know if it works. Everything works on the vehicle, except the turn signal indicator light on the dash (it does tick so you can hear it when its on). It also comes with the original clock, which does not work, so I put a tachometer in its place, which is nice to have. The car drives smooth & nice, though like most all small cars of that era, top speed is not its strong point (it will cruise at 60+ MPH, but revs at about 3000+ RPMs). This beauty comes with all original parts, numbers matching (though no A/C). Terms The car is being sold as is and buyer must arrange for pickup. On Mar-19-13 at 22:41:38 PDT, seller added the following information: More information on the paint!!!! The car was stripped of glass, lights and chrome to expose entire paint surface. The only body filler used was to repair minor door dings, a small dent on the right edge of the hood and a minor dent on the tip of the hood. The car was sanded properly including the edges to prevent peeling. A high quality Sherwin Williams base-coat clear-coat were used. 3 coats of clear were applied then color sanded and buffed. No over spray anywhere on the car. I have the hub caps 3 are in good shape but need polishing, 1 is damaged and probably needs replaced.
