Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a very original, reliable and clean little 1953 Chevy pickup. This truck spent its entire life on a farm in Texas, mostly stored in a barn. I came across the truck while vsiting relatives. The gentleman that originally owned the truck had passed away and his family was selling it. I purchased it and had it shipped to Florida. I have owned the truck for about 8 years and during the time I've owned it, she has always been kept in the garage. I had originally planned on altering it a little, new front end and steering, dropping it a little, V8 engine, etc. and leaving the body and cosmetics original, however, the truck has proven to be so reliable and fun to drive as is, I just never got around to it and have been enjoying the truck as is. I drive it on the weekends and back and forth to work several times during the week. I'll try and describe the truck as accurately as possible. Please look at all the pictures and contact me if you have any specific questions at all. The body is in very good condition and the truck is very solid but this is by no means a show truck. This is an excellent truck to start with or drive as is and enjoy. The truck has been repainted at some point in its past with the original dark green color and it was an average paint job. The paint is faded with several nicks and scratches and it was probably repainted 20 or 30 yrs ago if I had to guess. There is no new paint covering up any surprises, which is one of the reasons I purchased the truck. I was looking for an honest, original little truck that hadn't been altered, but I didn't want a 30k show truck either. The body is very solid. There are numerous little dents and dings here and there from living its life on a farm but nothing major. The only significant rust on the truck is the driver's side cab corner, where they all tend to rust, however, it is not really that bad and I do have a replacement panel for it that is included with the truck. The passenger side cab corner has no rust at all. The floors and battery box area are completely solid with only surface rust that can easily be sanded and repainted. No rust through or holes in the floor at all. All doors close solid and open as they should. Windows role up and down as they should. I removed the rear bumper, which I have and it comes with the truck if you want it. I purchased a rear rolled pan to replace the bumper and fill in the space and give it a little cleaner look, but again, never got around to installing it. It also comes with the truck. Its brand new, primed metal still in the box. I had the gas tank removed from behind the seats and had a fuel cell installed in the bed. The wood in the bed is ok and fine as is but will absolutely have to be replaced if your planning on restoring the truck. Frame and undercarriage of the truck is completely solid and straight with only surface rust. All lights work. Headlights, taillights, break lights, etc. The interior of the truck is in great condtion. The seats and door panels were obviously recovered at some point in a dark green tweed type material. It is clean with no rips or tears and actually looks pretty good in the truck. The headliner is the black cardboard type and is in good condition. Probably replaced at some point. The speedometer works and I believe the amp meter or oil pressure gauge works, however, the others do not. They are all original. The wipers also do not work. I have never driven the truck in the rain in 8 yrs so haven't needed them. lol The truck runs and drives great. I believe the engine is a 235 cu in which was put in the truck at some point and probably rebuilt, however, I have no proof or receipts, As mentioned earlier, the gentleman that had originally owned the truck passed away and his family didn't know a whole lot about it. She starts right up everytime and is extremely reliable. When everything else is in the shop, this truck is always running perfect. I've recently replaced the battery, the coil and fuel pump. She also has all new plugs, plug wires, distributor and starter mechanism. The old one was just starting to get a little worn. The engine runs smooth, with absolutely no smoke or weird noises. The original 3 speed transmission shifts through all the gears as it should. The truck has a clear Florida title. All in all she is an honest, original little '53 Chevy pickup. I searched for a while to find this one. They're usually either in extremely bad condition with a lot of rust or completely restored and you're afraid to drive it. Its hard to find one that hasn't been altered or chopped up in some tasteless way. If your looking for a good, clean little truck to start with or just want an original and reliable little truck to drive around and have fun with then this is your truck. I have recently changed jobs and we are selling our house and moving or else I wouldn't be selling the truck. If you have any questions or want specific pictures of any particular area, please do not hesitate to contact me either by email or anytime on my cell at 321-794-7196. I am located in Florida. I have perfect Ebay feedback and will assist in any way possible. Shipping and any transport cost are the sole responsibility of the purchaser, however, as mentioned, I will assist as much as possible if I need to meet with the transport company etc. All sales are final. Truck is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. I will accept wire transfer, cash, check or bank check, however, all funds must clear my bank before I will release the truck. Again, if you have any questions, please do not hesitated to contact me anytime. Thank you.On Mar-11-13 at 08:34:40 PDT, seller added the following information: The truck has been converted over to 12 volts.
