Vehicle Detail

1970 Ford Mustang Coupe (This is a repost; the previous buyer had a family issue arise and was unable to pay for the car) This car is nearing completion; just about everything is done except for paint. I have a binder full of receipts and instruction manuals. The engine is a rebuilt 351 Windsor and it is a screamer. Haven't had it on a dyno, but it is supposed to be pushing out about 425 horsepower. 4 barrel Carter carb, Edelbrock intake, Comp Cam (flat cam), Flamethrower electronic ignition, electric fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure, K&N Xtreme air filter and oil filter, cooling fan, 2.5" Flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust w/ X-pipe, and Chevy 2.02 valves. We have only fired the engine up a couple of times 1- to make sure that it starts and 2- to time it. There is a small leak in the top of the radiator. The exhaust sounds awesome. I uploaded a video on YouTube of the Mustang starting up and a walk-around. The video is below the description; please keep in mind that the engine hasn't really been started or driven on, so it still is a little hard to start. Brand new battery is included. The car has a 9” Posi rear end with 3.55 gears. The front brakes are oversized disk brakes, slotted and drilled. All the suspension is new. The front tires are P205/60R15 and the rear tires are P275/50R15 (BFGoodrich Radial T/A). They are brand new. The transmission is a rebuilt C4 (3 speed automatic) with about a 2500/3000 stall, and it is supposed to be a sweet shift kit. When we timed the engine, I drove the car 0.2 miles just to make sure that the transmission gears work. Other than that, the car hasn't been driven. The engine still needs to be broken in. When I put the car in drive, there was a noise coming from the transmission. I think it is either the shift kit, or linkage. I haven't had time to dive into the tranny, but the car does go into gear and would be fine driven onto a trailer. However, I wouldn't drive the car a long distance without having the transmission checked out first. Subframe connectors have also been installed. The interior is in great shape. The dash was cracked, but a cover has been installed over the top of it so that it looks just like the original. The gauges all work and the tach has been mounted on the floor because the police don't seem to be too fond of them when they see them mounted up on the dash. The fan for the engine kicks on at a certain temperature, but there is also a manual switch on the inside of the car if you prefer it to come on that way. The sound system is Sony Xplode (4 speakers inside the car, 2-10" subs in the trunk with 2 Sony Xplode 1000 watt amps). If you don't like the sound system, it the subs and amps could easily be removed from the trunk of the car. The only thing that is really left in the interior is to put the dome light back in. There is a small tear (about 3/4") in the headliner just above the quarter panel in the back, but you really have to look to notice it. Where the speakers are mounted along the back, there is a crack in that panel as well. The car does not come with AC. The body is in good shape. It is just about ready for paint. The passenger side door needs a little more work along the front edge where it meets the front fender (there is a bit of bondo in the door). Other than that, there is a small crack in the primer right above the driver's side rear wheel and a small scratch on the front of the hood. I am not going to lie, there is a little bit of bondo around the car, but the body is straight and in good shape and has a front spoiler. The hood scoop is functional. In the pictures, the rear of the hood is off a bit, but that is only because the hood hasn't been adjusted yet. I do have the molding pieces that go around the front and rear windows, as well as around the front of the hood. They are the original trim pieces. The car also comes with a new weather-stripping kit that needs to be installed when it is painted. I also have a car cover that comes with the car. The windshield does have a small crack in it, so it may need to be replaced sometime soon. I love this car, but I just started a new job and my wife just had a baby, so my time and money are other places right now. This car could easily be done in time for Spring and Summer driving and car shows. I am more than happy to work with you if you want to ship the car. Buyer is responsible for setting up all shipping arrangements. If you are the high bidder or choose to "Buy It Now" please contact me within 48 hours so that we can make arrangements. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of purchase. The deposit may be sent through PayPal, by Cashier's check, or by wire transfer, but the full payment will NOT be accepted through PayPal. Fully payment may be made by Cashier's check or wire transfer within 7 days of purchase. The vehicle will only be released for shipping/pick-up after full payment has cleared the bank. If you are planning on purchasing the Mustang, please make sure that you have the funds necessary before bidding. If the deposit/payment is not received within the required time frame or alternative arrangements are not made, the car will be re-listed on Ebay. I want to be as honest as possible with you, so feel free to ask any questions. On Mar-09-13 at 14:59:40 PST, seller added the following information: I added a few more pictures- one shows the crack in the windshield. I put my cell phone case behind it so that you can see the size of the crack. It is only about an inch big. Another picture shows the small spot above the driver's side rear wheel that will need a little touch up. Another picture shows the front edge of the passenger's side door that needs a little work. Other than that, the body is in great shape and there is very minimal rust around the entire car.
