Vehicle Detail
In 1988 my husband and I, while living in Arizona, found this really cool 1966 Jaguar XKE car. It was beautiful on the outside with a new bonnet (per the the owner), boxes of jaguar parts, and 4 new tires. Even though this car was taken apart and in the midst of being refurbished (there are 2 brown spots of primer on the car - it was like this when we bought it - not sure why) we had the grand idea of buying it and putting it back together. Our friend had a car just like this and we wanted one too. To be well informed shoppers we had someone that was very familiar with XKE's go through all of the parts and they said that 99% of the parts were there so we decided to make the purchase with the plans to restore it, even though we knew nothing about Jaguars. We stored the Jaguar in the garage and there it sat, and sat, and sat. In 1995, due to job changes, we had to move to California and we needed to decide what to do with the Jag. We are originally from Michigan and we hoped to move back "home" someday, so we decided to load it up on a trailer and take it to Michigan. We put it in our storage garage there and there it sat until now. After all these years we decided that we are never going to restore it and it is time to get rid of it and make room in the garage and let someone be able to restore it to its original condition and get it back out on the road. Let me recap what a good deal you are getting with this purchase (Reserve price $9,000): 1966 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Coupe - E-Type No rust -- running boards, floor boards, doors are in perfect condition (when restoration is complete you will know that your chassis is and original rust free car) Rear end has been completely gone thru Red leather interior (about 90% of it is new) Many new parts (extras & duplicates -- original owner worked at Jaguar) 5 original spoked chrome rims 4 brand new tires (not on the car) 2 radiators (1 extra) New bonnet (per original owner - it has been fitted) Original jack in original bag Engine Head has been rebuilt (engine is apart) Just a reminder that this vehicle is sold as is and there is no warranty. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them. Shipping/Pick-up will be your responsibility. Car is not running so you will need a trailer. The reoccurring comments we heard were: They couldn't believe what great condition the body and underbody of the car was in. They couldn't believe how many parts were included with the car. They feel the buyer will get an awesome car. Many more positive comments were made, but these were the ones that were repeated over and over again. If you are close to Michigan we would invite you to come and see the car - you need to see it to fully appreciate it !!!!!!
