Vehicle Detail
Easy restore or interesting hot-rod project! Car has just over 50k original miles. Has not been run in a year or so. Carb is off engine (intake manifold covered/sealed). Bottom end is solid, but needs valve guides or cylinders cleaned up, not sure. Never got into the motor to find out. Engine ran decently but smoked a bit, and would not pass emissions. Body, sheetmetal, chrome and interior overall are in excellent condition. Almost no rust anywhere. Likely been in the West its entire life. Needs paint and new vinyl top. Vinyl dash pad has a big crack. The shift collar in the steering column is broken, and the car cannot easily be shifted out of park. Transmission shifted well when car was running. The story with this Lincoln goes that it sat for at least fifteen to twenty years and was then sold at auction. The man who bought it sent the Lincoln to one of his friends shops to have it made roadworthy, but they left the car out in the weather. The guy who bought it from the auction then fell on hard times and could never afford to have much of anything else done to the car. When I bought the Lincoln it still had many original factory parts, and was in pretty poor shape mechanically and paint-wise. I cleaned it up, replaced much of the brake system and did a bit of engine work, but I was never able to get a job that left me with enough disposable income to get anywhere with the project. I'd rather not sell the car, but I have to be a realist here: I can't afford to finish it, and am saddened to see it sit, collecting dust. I want this Mark IV to go to someone who has the money and time for it. For the right person, this car is an amazing deal. - Bidders with zero feedback must contact me prior to placing a bid, or their bid(s) will be cancelled! - Car must be picked up within one week of auction end. - Out of state bidders are welcome but also must contact me prior to placing a bid, and then state their plan for retrieving the car. I apologize for stating the obvious, but due to previous experiences it was required sadly.
