This looks to be a REAL GT and all the signs say so including the often forgot about (when cloning) quick ratio steering box. This car is rock solid and has no rust issues. IF you are looking for a good driver quality Fastback then i would consider this one. The original 289 is very strong with quite a bit of mechanical work having been done to her after sitting for many many years. The old school flares were done in the late 80's and the car sat in mid restoration for almost 20 years until my friend bought her and finished the job. He dug real deep into the mechanics and she runs strong now and sounds excellent with a throaty exhaust.. Mechanically, she is good to go but I think the clutch is at about 15-20% but she should get you through the summer....I was going to redo it but my mechanic said she still has 3-5k miles to go. The trans is very strong though, shifts very nicely. FACTORY DISK BRAKES! The interior has been restored and was redone to the original which is the 65 code RED luxury which is the pony interior. The seats, door panels and carpet were redone but probably ten years ago and with little to no use but the carpets are a little discolored in areas where the floor mats were. The door panels and head liner are very clean and the seats look new. The dash is EXCELLENT! The original wood steering wheel is in very good condition as well. THE FOG LIGHT SWITCH is where it should be and looks completely factory. I have seen many "GT's" where the fog light switch did not look right. This fastback is super solid. No rust in the floors or trunk. The old School wheel flares were added 20 plus years ago and give the car a real nice stance. The paint was just redone and is good driver job. This is a driver quality car.....and nothing more but it is a TRUE GT. Overall, this is a very solid #3 car with a robust desire to hit the streets. She is good they way she is but with some cosmetic detailing and a little love she could be a real keeper. I am 99% sure this is a real GT A CODE MUSTANG.
