1974 CHEVROLET VEGA HATCHBACK We are selling this Vega for our client. The car has been in their family and in New Mexico for at least 20 years. It has not been driven for quite some time as the father died and at the time non of the kids wanted to drive a Vega, really? I like the car... That being said the car was driven to this spot, parked and has not moved since. The body is pretty straight for an almost 40 year old car. The worst damage is the dent in the drivers door. There is not much rust, I found a small hole by the gas filler in the lower quarter, see photo. Lifting some of the carpet I found no evidence of holes but have not been able to see the whole floor. Also, I was unable to get any shots underneath as the tires are flat and the rims are sunken in the dirt. The drivers window is missing, front window does not leak but is cracked. Car is very dirty, the winds of New Mexico and dust are relentless! Mileage is unknown. The hood will not open, we will try again so I can put up some photos. I think the cable is not connected to release it, if anyone has any ideas on how to get this open, please let me know! This appears to be the base model 4 cylinder with a manual 4 speed transmission. This will have to be towed. Will come with a bill of sale. They have the title but have not located it yet - if it is found of course it will be included. We have a very low reserve on this car and we do require the deposit within 48 hours to seal the deal. If time is needed to pick up the car, arrangements need to be discussed before auction ends, we appreciate that! This is an IDEAL candidate for a LS V8 conversion, check out some Vegas on youtube - makes for a very quick and well handling rocket!
