Vehicle Detail
BMW R1150RT For sale is my 2003 BMW R1150RT with 43,600 miles. It is being sold because I just purchased another BMW R1200GS Adventure, my fifth Adventure. Not enough room in the garage for both, and my wife tells me one of the cycles MUST go. I am the third owner of this RT. Purchased with 37,500 miles, it has been a great commuting bike for me. This cycle is an extremely comfortable ride over long distances and has lots of power when needed. The adjustable wind-screen offers amazing protection from the buffeting wind at freeway speeds, which explains in part why the California Highway Patrol and multiple other police agencies use this cycle as standard issue. The two side cases and one top case (all keyed to the bike) provide lots of useful storage capacity for toting items for work (laptop) or for taking weekend trips. This bike has been garage kept before me and since I have owned it. While this bike has the radio compartment and antenna, no radio is provided. The bike has heated grips, ABS brakes, fog lights and two power outlets for heated vest plug in. After-market rapid-flashing LED brake lights were added before my ownership to augment the standard brake light. Condition: Before purchasing this cycle locally, it was taken to my local BMW motorcycle dealer for evaluation. The bike came back with a clean-bill of health except for the fact that it needed a new front tire. The tire was added and I have enjoyed roughly 7,000 worry free miles on the bike since then. PLEASE NOTE, the bike now needs a new rear tire. Also, the original owner scuffed the paint on the ends of the mirrors on both sides and one side has a small hair-line crack about an inch long, see attached photos. Other than the tire and the scuffs on the mirror ends, THERE ARE NO MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CYCLE! It starts up every time without fail, even after it has sat a few weeks between rides. Please feel free to ask me any question about the bike. THE CALIFORNIA TITLE IS CLEAN AND IN HAND. This bike is also being offered for sale locally and, as such, I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please bid with confidence, as I have accurately described the condition of this cycle. Best of luck auctioning. I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT I HAVE THE OWNER'S MANUAL AND OTHER BOOKS THAT CAME WITH THE CYCLE WHEN PURCHASED NEW. I ALSO HAVE SOME OF THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS FROM THE BMW DEALERS THAT SERVICED THIS BIKE. ALL WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE NEW OWNER. On Feb-24-13 at 12:14:09 PST, seller added the following information: THE RESERVE PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED AS HAS THE BUY-IT-NOW PRICE. THANKS
