This is an unmolested original. This car is STOCK. Right down to the exhaust manifolds. This car can be driven and enjoyed now. We have all seen the ads for the cars that advertise numbers matching only to find out that the have the original block but its locked up or is missing major components . Even worse the original driveline is long gone and someone threw in a 350 chevy motor and they’re asking the big bucks because it’s a real GTO. Most of these cars are long gone. Alot of them are in pretty poor shape. Some have been restored (and demand the big money) This one has sat in the garage while the Collector car industry evolved into what we have today. Here's one you don’t see everyday. The original owner bought this car on 1/30/70 for $3941.04. He brought it up to his lake house approx 25 years ago. Where it has been stored in it‘s own garage for safe keeping. Even in good weather I rarely saw the car out of the garage. The car comes with the clear ORIGINAL title. Mechanical condition: The original 400 engine has never been out of the car the odometer shows 26,366. The car starts right up with a turn of the key and idles smooth and quite. Step on the gas pedal and this car rumbles like a muscle car should. You have to love that deep throaty exhaust. This GTO runs great at highway speeds. Let go of the wheel at 70mph and it drives straight down the road.. Apply the brakes and it stops straight too. The transmission shifts great with no appearance issues. It really is a pleasure to drive. Exterior:This car came with one of the best color combinations of Green with a black Vinyl Top. The bottom of the fenders appear to be original. The lip on the inside of the trunk and the bottom of the doors are in great shape. The rear quarters appear to have minor repair years ago. Other than that the body looks great. The doors shut like new. I put the car up on the rack (see pics) the floorboards and trunk pan appear to be original and in good shape with the exception of one hole on the drives side front (below your heel) the frame also appears to be in very good original condition. This car is a true unmolested original. It was repainted many years ago and has a good driver quality paint job. The tires are 60 series and in almost new condition. The Interior is also green, at first glance the interior looks amazing. The only repairs needed on the upholstery (seats and door panels) would be to replace the vinyl on the drivers side seat bottom (tears and split seams). The dash must have small cracks because the original owner put colored tape over some spots., However the dash appears to fit perfectly (a cap should be an easy repair). The headliner also has a separated seam. I will get the numbers off the motor and post them here. Options include: Power Steering, Power Brakes, Air Conditioning, Rally II wheels, Vinyl Top.
