Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1976 Suzuki RE5 rotary motorcycle. The bike is in overall very restorable condition. All of the chrome is in nice shape. There is minor pitting here and there, but I think most all of it would clean up very well with a little effort. It does have the factory Suzuki rack which has some more pitting, but would still clean up pretty well. The front master cylinder has the piston, etc. removed and will need a rebuild kit, but the core is rebuildable. The right side cover upper mounting tabs are broken as shown in pics, so a small slot was made in cover for a strap to hold the cover on. The bike needs a new battery will turn over when jumped and will not start has great spark and compression. It appears that at one time it was layed down lightly on the left side because there is some rash on the crash bar and the pipe has some minor tweaking in the pipe and shroud, but no rash that I noticed. Both pipes look very nice for their age. The tank has some surface rust inside but does not appear to have any heavy pitting. It has a few dings and had been repainted at some point. The fuel sensor has been removed and the hole capped. I'm not sure if it works but it is included. The front forks have no pitting in the slide range and are in great shape, guages are nice and it still has the original "S" mirrors. The seat pan appears to be very solid and the cover looks nice but has a couple small tears. Overall, this is a very nice canidate for an easy restoration or you could probably put a few hundred dollars and some time and effort into it and have a very presentable rider. Please ask questions before bidding and thank you for looking! On Feb-16-13 at 11:00:03 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention in the initial listing...The title is free and clear it is just in the the name of the previous owner. He signed off I just never had it transferred.
