Vehicle Detail
1941 Chevy Suburban, partially restored. Solid Frame ( no repairs). Starts easily, runs very smoothly, good brakes, all gauges work, charging system works properly, cooling system works properly. Original 216 cu in engine with 3 spd trans. Has original second seat, but third seat is not the correct one. New: wooden floor and bed strips in back, cross members, rear leaf springs both sides, some side door hinges, new E brake cables ( E brake works perfectly) extensive sheet metal work done to body. Cab floor is new with steel panels. New floor mat. Rear ( clamshell style) door now works, closes and latches, but needs finishing. Valance below rear door is missing but I have some pieces to make a pattern from. Mileage appears to be accurate, but cannot be certain. Roof is remarkably straight. Headliner is present and about 90% complete. Needs: body filler work, some electrical work (headlights, dash lights), needs tires ( I have the original 16" wheels with new- in- box aftermarket hub caps), paint. Has 15" wheels and tires on it now. Needs reupholstery. Running boards are rough but very solid ( lots of patches), inner fender on driver's side is very bad. Rear fenders need work. Most windows roll up and down, but some are rough. Windshield crank works, moves windshield in and out at bottom. R side windshield is cracked, so is pass side window ( flat glass). Lower grille needs repair. Can be driven as-is ( took the family for ice cream in it last summer!) This is a very unusual vehicle. Time, funds, and energy are in short supply, so I have decided to offer it for sale. Thanks for looking . On Feb-16-13 at 02:16:16 PST, seller added the following information: Two things I wanted to add: 1) Maine does not require a title for registration, and I do not have a title. I can provide a Bill of Sale and can get a title if necessary, but it will take a few weeks 2) Correction: the fuel gauge does not work at the moment. I believe that the wire to the tank just needs to be connected. I had the tank out and sealed it but have not re-connected the wire yet
