Vehicle Detail
1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVilleOffered for sale with NO RESERVE, this very desirable 1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVille 2Dr hardtop, (not a series 62, but a real Coupe DeVille). The highest bidder will win/buy this car. '63 and '64 Coupe DeVille Cadillacs are harder to find nowadays. This top of the line model comes with several factory options, power windows, power seats, air conditioning, exterior electric mirror, optional AM/FM radio, etc. Most everything works, but the controls for the windows and the seat in the drivers side armrest only intermittently. Some electric trouble shooting will have to be done. The car is equipped with the big, more powerful 429 CID (340 HP) engine, which was an upgrade for 1964 from the 390 CID (325HP) power plant offered in 1963. This big Cadillac runs and drives, (but has only been driven short distances). The engine starts and runs well. The transmission shifts smoothly and well. The power steering pump/gear box should be looked at as it whines at times when steering. Overall all the car needs a thorough look through, a tune-up and some TLC. It shows only 82K miles on the odometer. The car is very solid and straight, but the body has a few cosmetic issues which need attention. The floorboards/pans, frame, trunk, etc. appear to be rust free. There are a few rust spots here and there on the body and the bottom edge of the hood. The rear quarter panels, rear skirts, etc. are very straight and appear to be rust free as well. There may have been some minor rust repairs done at the bottom of the body by the previous owner(s). The chrome, stainless steel trim and bumpers are in mostly good condition. The bottom of the front bumper on the sides is rusted. Some of the exterior trim will need to be cleaned and buffed due to primer overspray (the gray spots you can see on the photos). The interior is in good condition with no tears or rips and is completely original. A very good detail should be sufficient to really bring the interior back to its former glory. Although the car looks a little tired (the exterior mainly), an easy restoration (some minor body work, a good paint job and some minor mechanical work) will propel this rare American Queen back to her glory days. If not kept entirely original it could be changed slightly into a killer rest-mod. The tires are so-so (minor dry-rot visible), but they hold pressure well. The car is not perfect by any means, but a little TLC will go a long way! This car is in search of a good home. I am no longer able/willing to do the restoration myself as I have lost my storage and need to make room. Happy bidding and thanks for looking!!The car should be trailered or shipped to its new destination. The car is sold as-is, sale is final. No refund, return or exchange. A deposit of $520 is due via PayPal immediately upon the end of Auction, with the remainder of the balance due within 48 hours via Bank Wire. The Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs to their location. The car must be picked up within seven to ten days. New & better photos posted on 020813.
