Vehicle Detail
1955 Red Ford Thunderbird. GREAT condition. Bought in 1999 in Cottage Grove, Oregon and had a classic 1600 mile road trip driving it to Denver. Unfortunately, I have not had time (and now have kids) and haven't taken it for any more road trips. It has always been garaged. I bought a soft top for the original trip and have never used the hard top (still in bubble wrap from shipping it from dealer when I purchased it). So it has essentially a new soft top and the original hard top. I just took it in for a $600 tune-up. Has a new battery. Black/white interior. White wall tires. Manual 3 speed with overdrive. Power windows and seats. Small paint chip near right taillight that can easily be fixed. Otherwise no rust or other big surprises. Buy it now price is only $25,000 with both tops. Great deal for amazing classic All-American car. A piece of history. On Feb-07-13 at 10:45:21 PST, seller added the following information:Also included is a dust cover and a hard-to-find 1955 Ford Thunderbird Shop Manual. On Feb-07-13 at 11:10:45 PST, seller added the following information: MORE PICTURES: eBay will not allow me to upload more pictures now that the auction has bids. So I've uploaded more to my separate ebay classified listing for the car. You can see these pictures by searching for the item #: 261166028975 On Feb-07-13 at 11:16:20 PST, seller added the following information: The original radio is still in the dashboard, but does not work (usually you want to hookup an ipod hidden in the glove box anyway). Also, the clock does work. On Feb-11-13 at 17:33:12 PST, seller added the following information: BUY IT NOW IS BEST OPTION: Today I've had 3 people checkout the car for an out-of-state buyer. All were highly impressed and believe it is a great deal. One thinks I'm pricing it $5k too low and is going to advise his relative to buy it "if they are serious about a 1955 thunderbird since they won't find a better condition/deal than this one". I let them know that the first one to buy it tomorrow for $25,000 will end the auction early. I just added up my receipts today and have over $26,000 into it (so I should be selling it for a profit as I'm not desperate to sell it). And in my files I found receipts from before I bought it where they rebuilt the engine. So basically it has my 1600 mile road trip on it. And I forgot to mention the 5 whitewall tires I bought and put on the car when I bought it. All are in excellent shape with the same 1600 miles on them (and zero on the spare in the trunk). This is as close to being a show car as you'll ever get for $25,000. There are over 60 watchers on this auction. I priced it fairly for an amazing classic automobile and I am already having seller's remorse. If I had a 3 car garage and more time, it would not be for sale. I have no doubts I'll be regretting it later--especially with my kids yelling at me for the rest of my life. So, again, if you are serious I'd suggest that you click on buy-it-now as the auction will most likely end early. Or, the auction will continue and the "buy it now" price will disappear once the reserve price is hit and the bidding will probably exceed the $25k.
