Vehicle Detail
This is a fresh high quality restoration started in the spring of 2012 with less than 100 miles since the rebuild. This vehicle was purchased off Ebay as a "barn find" and has undergone an extensive restoration. Vehicle was torn down to the basic uni-body. All rusty metal was cut out and replaced with new panels. New metal includes, rockers, front/rear floor pans, rear frame rails, front frame rails, hinge pillars, and metal patches placed in the lower corners of each front fender. Entire underside including the backside of the fenders was POR15 treated, epoxy primed, and topped in Herculiner. Detailed pictures of all restoration process available and will be provided to the buyer. Suspension fully rebuilt with new bushings, trunions, and shocks. Stainless brake lines, new shoes, and bearings upgraded to taper style. New brake/clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and stainless clutch line. All flexible lines replaced. Rear axle cleaned, inspected, and re-sealed with new gaskets. Fuel tank was cleaned and professional dipped with protective inner coating (great for E10 fuel blends). Engine rebuilt and bored 20 over, rods/mains at 10 over. Carb and fuel pump rebuilt with correct pieces. New water pump. Pertronix ignition conversion. Radiator and heater core re-cored with all new hoses and clamps. Converted to a paper air filter and screw on oil filter for ease of service. Break-in oil complete and now filled with Royal Purple. New clutch, pressure plate, and throw out. Transmission cleaned, resealed, and shifter bushings replaced. Speedometer cable is new. Motor and transmission mounts replaced. Virtually every fastener on the vehicle has been replaced with stainless or grade 8 for the application. No expense was spared on the fasteners. New American Autowire Highway 22 harness - converted to Neg ground with Optima battery. Starter rebuilt, and alternator converted to CS130 (old parts come with the vehicle). Pull start knob replaced with the choke and separate fan switch now where the choke was for the heater. Hidden radio under the dash that will play MP3/Ipod/CD with remote. Four speaker system. Wiring in truck to add a sub box if desired. Vehicle has a THREE point seatbelt conversion with weld in corners to the roof structure. Basic lap belt added for any small rear seat passenger. New window run channels, new felt, new front windshield, all new rubber around glass and vent windows. All interior is new. The headliner has some wrinkles that may work out a bit in warm weather or need a trim shop to tuck it in tighter. Tires are new white wall Uniroyal Tiger Paws (all five). Rims have all been powder coated in gloss black. New British made hubcaps complete the wheel package. Most all chrome including door handles, trunk handle, bumpers, and more has been replaced. Wipers, heater, lights, trafficator, horn, high beams - etc. all work. NOTE - all wiring is NEW. Weather strips all new Paint is PPG 2012 Corvette white/black two stage concept 2025 clear. Vehicle has been color sanded and buffed. More new and reconditioned parts than I can remember at this moment. Conversions such as taper bearings, pertronix, HWY22 wiring, and stereo done to make this an enjoyable classic that can be more reliable and easier to function than when it was stock. Car could easily be made to a 100 point restoration as there have been no items cut or hacked from the stock chassis. Odometer was rolled back to zero to reflect the fresh rebuild. Actual original miles on the vehicle cannot be confirmed. Ready to move onto other projects - wife tells me it is time to replace the shower in our master bath - car HAS to go!
