Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice all original 1964 Mercedes Model 220SE Heckflosse. These cars were an engineering masterpiece for 1964, they had crush Zone Technology, padded dashboard, recessed handles, independent suspension, fuel injected engine, power disk front brakes, and power steering. This car is a full sized sedan with plenty of leg room both in front and back and a huge trunk.22 miles/gallon for a car this size was amazing. New Mercedes door gaskets, wing window gaskets, and windshield gaskets. Borla stainless steel exhaust from the engine all the way to the tailpipe. Blue leather upholstery. New radiator. Fuel injected engine starts and runs great, and has plenty of power.Engine was completely rebuilt several years ago by "Auto Sport in Seattle" they are well known for their superb workmanship restoring engines on antique cars.Engine has sodium filled exhaust valves and hardened valve seats, so it runs just fine on unleaded gas. Car has been properly cared for over the years, has maintenance records and receipts. New Michelin tires. Differential has all new bearings installed by Autosport last year, with all new seals and bushings, check out the photos. Most of the parts had to be ordered from Germany and they cost almost $1100 alone. While it was out we replaced the axel bearings brake cylinders and shoes too. The undercarriage is clean and has only minor surface rust, check out the pictures of the wheel wells. Finish has chips in the paint, but the car still looks nice. This is straight car that would be easy to restore with a proper paint job. The chrome is in good condition, the top left and right parts of the rear bumper were re chromed by "Art Brass in Seattle". They are well known for show quality restoration chrome plating for antique cars.
