Vehicle Detail
If you’re looking for a great running school or work car, then here is a good pick for you. Since I bought this I have checked this car out from top to bottom and driven it thoroughly and I will tell you all I know. Any questions please send eBay message or call Tony at 989-430-7513. I have many more photos than shown. Let’s get started. The car was in Florida its first 8 years then 2 years driven in Pennsylvania, it has never seen a Michigan winter. I bought it from Mountaineer Motors in Dallas, Pennsylvania. I have the paperwork from this. The gas mileage as observed is 30 mpg on the highway and 18-22 in town. Documented is about the same. Driven softly I believe it can get 24 mpg average. The engine runs great, but oil leaks at ½ QT every 2 tanks (common Northstar problem – I have priced this at a $800 to $1200 repair). Still plenty of power. Transmission shifts great in all gears, no problems. Brakes are good and no issues, pads are good and ready for day to day use. Replaced wheel bear RF 2000 miles ago (last fall). Suspension is good, shocks and coils are fine and rides nice and tight. Air ride system fully working. No check engine light. Driver display shows a warning about “Security system-car may not restart” but it’s because the contacts to read the key resistance (VATS) is wore out, there is an easy fix to remove this message. (I can do this if it makes the difference to you). The car always starts. Rims are in good shape. Tires are ok, they ride fine and will last a season or two, but with about 30% tread left. Glass is all good, no cracks. All electronics work good, windows, lights, locks, wipers, radio, cruise. All bulbs burning. Paint is glossy, pictures show all, front fender looks aftermarket (but good) and there are two minor dents (you have to look sideways to see them or hold your hand up to them to feel them) and scratches common for an older car, noticeable when up close (see photos). Otherwise the rest is in good shape. Since I got it last April, I have put 6000 miles on it and it wasn't driven much either in Penn, so the body rust-wise is excellent below!! Interior is clean. Replaced blower motor fan, last month. Woodgrain panel has a crack in it (see photos). Very slight interior scuffs all visible in photos, compass on mirror is 180 degrees off exactly. Gas gage is unreliable, it needs a new in-tank sensor. Bonus: I have a CD player for it (AC Delco); just needs to be installed and harness plugs purchased. GM Tech II messages, all cleared and none return except fuel sensor and low bulb resistance (I put in LED side indicators, but have replacement OEM lamps for you): P0340 - Cam sensor (reset in June, never came back) P1258 - Overtemp protection (reset in June, never came back) B0533 - Fuel Sender (needs new sensor in tank) So I hope you buy this nice car at a price you can afford, thanks and any questions please call me or email, I want you to be happy with your purchase, thanks and have a great day. --Tony 989-430-7513On Feb-02-13 at 10:06:38 PST, seller added the following information: If you’re looking for a great running school or work car, then here is a good pick for you.
