Here we have a 1966 Land Rover Series IIa. This vehicle came direct from England to Rhode Island then to Columbus Ohio. It sat for about 5 years before I acquired it in 2008. When purchased many parts had been stripped off the vehicle. I had it towed home and began work to get it running again. Here is a list of new or reused parts we installed on the Rover to get it running again: New Lucas distributor, Weber carburetor, battery, complete exhaust system, fuel pump, original style air filter, choke assembly, fuel tank, rear shocks, rear wheel cylinders, starter switch, clutch and brake master cylinders. Here are a few cosmetic items we purchased: Used door tops, two used lower front doors, used exhaust manifold, used Smiths round heater Also we installed four new all terrain Goodyear Wrangler Authority 235/75r-16 radial tires that have about 100miles on them. We also installed a new right side front frame horn due to decay. The vehicle starts and runs great. Will start even on cold days. Does about 55mph tops, Does not have overdrive. Does not have power steering or brake options This is a 47 year old vehicle and does not drive like a newer suv - it is rugged and very well built. It will be around for many more years to come. Some recommended items for the next owner to make this a finished restoration could be: 1. could use new leaf springs and some minor frame patches - nothing too serious 2. possible repair of passenger seat, side door, rust holes at fire wall bulkhead 3. replace door seals, and wiper motors 4. change belts and hoses 5. replace alternator - it is making a slight bearing noise No shipping available - you will need to come pick up the vehicle Please call and ask questions or see vehicle in person - call Mark at 1-740-862-8689 We are selling to purchase an RV On Jan-26-13 at 08:04:48 PST, seller added the following information: Update on some things not previously noted on the Rover: 1. gas gauge does not work - could be sending unit 2. low beam headlights do not work - high beam does 3. there is a small area of rust at the bottom of the grill 4. there are seat belts but they are vintage and could be replaced 5. body was repainted, Land Rover blue long ago - was originally dark green 6. there is no spare tire Re-listed this vehicle today - needs to go to a good home: Added some new pics for buyers.
