I AM RELISTING THIS AUCTION AS THE BIDDER WHO WON BACKED OUT OF THE DEAL. I APOLOGIZE TO ALL OF THE HONEST BIDDERS WHO WERE PUNTED OUT OF AN HONEST DEAL BY A DEAD BEAT WHO REFUSES TO EVEN REINBURSE ME THE EBAY FEES I AM BEING CHARGED. AGAIN IF YOU ARE GOING TO BID THEN BE PREPARED TO OWN..DO NOT WASTE MY TIME. 1985 was the last year Mercedes built the beautiful 123 series station wagon . This car ha 129k miles on the odometer, and it and drives accordingly . However, upon acquiring title it showed a discrepancy with the mileage. In my honest opinion I would calculate the milage to be somewhere at or near 200K. The body is straight with only a couple of tiny dings , normal for a used W123 . The paint is a little faded on the hood and there are only very small rock-chips below the front headlights . Whenever i drive the car , people ask me what year it is and they can not believe it is 25 years old . It is not your average looking 25 year old car . It really sticks out . The dashboard does have a couple of small hairline cracks. The visor mirrors are cracked. This wagon has always been maintained very well and it shows . It always starts up right away , idles smooth and does not smoke like many other older diesels . Just recently we changed all fluids and filters , adjusted the valves , installed new motor mounts . The transmission shifts smooth through all the gears and the car has plenty of pick-up . It is not slow at all . You can comfortably cruise with 90 mph and still get 22 mpg of diesel . At this speed the wagon still feels very solid and is truly fun to drive . It is built like a tank . Even though there are no airbags , this is one of the safest classic cars , which you can drive every day and not think twice about it . These cars are known to go for over 500k miles with the same engine , if you keep up the maintenance . There is no ROT in the chassis, only a small rust spot where the non EURO bumper used to sit. I had a Euro bumper installed as it always raises the value of any Mercedes. This car would do well as a safe every day driver for many years to come or as a practical long term investment . Mercedes just does not built them like this anymore and they have been going up in value for several years already .
