Vehicle Detail
1989 Chevy K5 Blazer 4WD Arizona Vehicle NO RUST!!! I moved from Arizona to San Diego in 2011 so the Blazer is in CA now. It has a Pioneer AM / FM CD player with auxiliary hookup, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, power locks, alarm with keyless entry and a trailer hitch. This is the last version of this body before they changed to the new body style. It has throttle body injection so you wont have to worry about the headache of a carburetor. It also has the sought after quad headlight setup. I am a mechanic and work at a dealership so this vehicle has been well cared for in the 4 years I have had it. When I purchased it the transmission was shot so I had that rebuilt with a mild shift kit to firm up the shifts, I also added a transmission cooler. The engine runs strong, does not smoke on startup, does not use oil and idles smooth. I would keep it but I already have 5 other vehicles and am moving so I will not have the storage space. Here is a list of what I have done to the Blazer: * Transmission overhaul with mild shift kit to firm up the shifts *Transmission cooler *New exhaust with magnaflow muffler & catalytic convertor *Replaced cap, rotor, plugs & wires *New AC Delco oxygen sensor *Flushed coolant, replaced water pump & heater core *Serviced differentials & transfer case *New AC Delco starter *New Battery *New AC Delco EGR valve *Serviced Air Conditioning & converted it to R134 *Replaced valve cover gaskets *Replaced valve seals *New serpentine belt, fan clutch & belt tensioner *New engine & transmission mounts *K&N Air filter *New weather stripping for the front door windows & rear roll up window*New windshield The only issues that I am aware of on the Blazer are that the paint is faded and clear coat is flaking (no rust though). Some of the side moldings have fallen off. I have them they just need to be re-tapped. The steering is a little loose; I never got into it because it would have been done when I did the lift. The interior shows some wear but is in great shape for being 24 years old. Air Conditioning works when charged but has to be recharged at the beginning of the summer. The cruise control does not work. The tires have about 40-50% tread remaining but should be replaced at some point due to age. The headliner is sagging, the passenger visor has a tear in it (about 1 in.) and the driver’s seat also has a small tear in the backrest material (also about 1 in.) There is some noise from the rear differential, no metal in the fluid though (I was going to change the gear ratio when I did the lift) but the noise hasn’t changed in the 4 years I have been driving it. The passenger window motor is slow, the window rolls up just slower than the drivers and rear windows. The slider windows in the top stick, the weather stripping is hardened but you can get replacements at LMC. That is all that I can think of. If you have any questions let me know. This vehicle has always been reliable for me. I drove it out here from Arizona without any problems. On Jan-28-13 at 17:54:54 PST, seller added the following information: This vehicle is currently titled in Arizona. To pass smog in California it needs a CARB approved catalytic convertor (they have a carb njmber stamped on the catalytic convertor that the smog tech needs to see to pass it) All other smog components are on the vehicle and functioning correct. If you plan to register it in any state other than California you should be fine (just make sure your state does not follow California smog laws) I am adjusting the buy it now price to accommodate for this.
