Up for auction today is my '65 Mustang Convertible. It has the 200 ci 6 cyl engine that runs good, C4 automatic transmission, power top, am/fm radio, chrome 14" rims with matching spare. This car does run and drive, and was last registered, insured, and driven on the highway in March 2012 when I still lived in Florida. This is a car in need of some work. It needs tie rod ends, the windshield gasket leaks on the passenger side lower corner, the seats need to be recovered, needs new carpet, the transmission leaks from the dipstick tube because the retaining bolt is broken, the floor boards are rusty, and have some holes and soft spots, but not so far gone that you couldn't drive it. The odometer shows 69008 miles, which I believe to be correct, because I changed out all the original shocks when I bought the car 4 years ago with 64000 miles on the odometer. The 14 inch Goodyear tires have great tread. Car has a new fuel pump, starter, exhaust manifold, emergency brake cables, heater ducting and plenum, and glove box. Also included in the sale price is an assortment of new and used parts, such as 4 drum brake assemblies, a rebuilt C4 automatic transmission (cost $750 for the rebuild), coil springs, steering parts, steering column and wheel, carb, starter, and others that I'm not remembering. Yes, this needs work, but it's still a very sharp car that turns heads and gets compliments, but unfortunately for me, I do not have the time or money to bring this great American Classic back to her original glory.
