Vehicle Detail
This is a two owner, original car, that was repainted red (originally green) by the last owner. Mel bought the car in 1965 from Albert World for $50 with 69,000 miles on the car (speedo doesn't work). It was a beautiful and functional car when he bought it. He drove it occasionally over the years as a collector. He built a new home and decided to do a partial restore on the car. He parked it in a heated garage fourteen years ago, rechromed everything on the car (most still rapped in newspaper) and never got around to reinstalling the bumpers, grill and other finished/chromed items. Mel said the top was originally black but he replaced it with white and had the seats redone. Other than that he doesn't recall doing anything else on the car. His grandson broke the windshield while in storage. There is a small amount of body rust, driver side, above and along the skirt well. The dash; gages, door panels, interior are in pristine condition. I have the original trunk lid, same color. The paint shines but has numerous chips and some scratches. There are no dents or body damage to the car. There are two pieces of chrome that Mel misplaced as far as we can tell. A piece of molding on the inside for the windshield and the piece that goes over the front, passenger side fender. I cant guarantee everything is there (too many items still rapped in paper) but these two seem to be missing. Mel (80 years old) has a very large garage and he is still looking for new and spare parts that go with the car. We picked up a number of spare parts and trim when I bought the car. All of the rechromed pieces were stored in the car. The tires are new (17 years ago) and one has an ageing crack in it but they all hold air. The car isn't running. There is no reserve on the car.
