Up for auction is a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 400E sedan, 175k, dark blue with palomino interior. The car has been very well cared for over the last 20 years, it shows inside and out. Its always been adult owned and very well serviced. I'm a Mercedes-benz mechanic and enthusiast, I've spent a lot of time bringing this car back to the way it originally rolled off the assembly line. The car has served me very well as a daily driver and road trip vehicle, always performing well. I've taken it to D.C. (400 miles one way) in the summer, 90+ ambient temps, A/C blowing ice cold and the car still managed to product over 23mpg. During my ownership, I've spent thousands of dollars updating/servicing/repairing this car to be 100% reliable. Here's a list of most of the work that I've done to the car: -Updated upper and lower engine harnesses -Full tune-up (ignition wires set, 2 distributor caps, 2 distributor rotors, plugs, air/fuel filter, drive belt) -Full vehicle fluid flush (coolant, oil, transmission, rear differential) -Transmission service and installed updated vacuum modulator -Complete set of breather hoses/couplers -Updated blower motor and regulator -Rebuilt throttle body by Beckman technologies -New Bosch mass air flow sensor -Full set of brakes, front and rear -- pads, rotors, sensors -Full paint job -16" 9 hole mercedes wheel with summer tires (75% tread), also includes 16" full size spare -Alpine ipod ready cd player (ipod cable routed into lockable center console storage compartment) -replaced ignition cylinder lock -updated front headlights and hood (looks like 95 E420) -Custom built cold air intake included but not installed As a mechanic, the last thing you want to do is fix your own car when your on the road or away from home on a trip, which is why I've spent so much time/money/effort to make this car 100% so that I (and the next owner)could enjoy it for years to come with very few problems. Please understand this car is 21 years old and has been driven its whole life so its not a 10/10 perfect condition, but its close.
