Vehicle Detail
I have up for auction my 1970 Plymouth Duster. It has 52,000 miles and it is quite a nice car yet. It has the slant 6 engine with automatic on the column. It has the Deluxe interior with bucket seats. It has very nice Fenton mag wheels with center caps. 14X8 rears and 14X6 fronts are the dimensions. It originally had a bench seat but I removed it and added bucket seats from a low milage '74 Duster parts car. The driver's seat has a couple splits where the seams are. The rear seat is very nice. All of the interior is very nice. No cracks in dash pad and headliner is good. The carpet is original. It has an AM radio that works perfect. It has an underdash 8 track player that I put in a couple years ago. It was a NOS brand new player when I installed it. It has dual speakers neatly installed in the rear speaker board. The system sounds awesome for 40 year technology. It has a very nice Tuff Steering wheel. The trunk area is all original with the original trunk mat. The spare tire and jack assembly has never been used. The bumpers are very straight but could use a rechroming to be perfect. All of the frame rails are very solid and nice. The floor pans are rust free and good (I've had the carpet up - still showing White paint). The inner fenders, firewall, trunk floor, the trunk extensions, etc are nice. The car has a little rust down low on one fender and little bubbling down low on the other. Same goes for the lower quarter panels down low behind the rear tires. Some rust showing on one side on some bubbling down low on the other. The car has original paint except it has been repainted below the belt protective molding a very long time ago. The rear panel has been repainted as well. I repainted the upper half of the engine compartment and the underneath of the hood. The rest is original. The car still has the original starter and alternator. Mechanically the car is excellent. The engine is very strong for a 6 cyl. and the trans. shifts firm. The steering is very tight and the brakes work like brand new. This car will get 25 MPG if you take it easy on the highway. The exhaust is very good and the suspension has a very good feel to it. I have put 4000 miles on it since I've owned it(2007). It is very reliable and fun to drive. The vinyl top is very nice with no splits or problems. Amazing condition for being 43 years old. The doors close like brand new and the interior is tight - No wind whistles. The glass is very good. The car is very, very straight as far as dents go. There is one dent if you look close on the driver's side fender, down low and towards the front. It has the original owners manual in glove box. It is mint. For the history of this car: I was told that older people owned it since new and it was always garage kept. You can tell they took care of it. I'm probably forgeting to mention some quality about the car, but if you have any questions let me know. I hate to sell this car but I have some bills to take care of. *** Also, a couple things I just thought of: It has the Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition kit installed which included the quick advance distributor, orange performance control box and corresponding wiring. It also has a Mopar Performance mini-starter. This starter really turns over the engine faster for quicker starting and it's alot lighter as well. The original starter goes with the car as well.On Jan-19-13 at 16:25:19 PST, seller added the following information: Finally got my digital camera going again because I wanted to get some photos of the engine compartment and another of the trunk. Just a note on originality: It still has the original battery cables both postitive and negative. Also, which is in good condition is the windshield washer resevoir. The photo in the trunk area shows the jack and handle in place. The rest of the stuff is tucked away now in it's proper place with the spare tire in the well underneath trunk mat.
