Vehicle Detail

1960 Pontiac Ventura. Car starts and runs and is complete. Air clearner off in the engine photo to show you underneath. In 61 and 62 they called these "bubbletops," but I think the rear window dimensions are the same on the 1960. Some surface rust, but mostly good metal. Could use a new trunk pan. Great classic car from 1960 that will be easy to restore. Or make it a lowrider hotrod. On Jan-14-13 at 11:18:03 PST, seller added the following information: 1960 Pontiac Ventura. Great classic car from 1960 that will be easy to restore. Or make it a lowrider hotrod. Additional options: - Rare 8-lug wheels that were also on the Bonneville. Worth about $2K themselves. -Bonneville interior (although needs to be redone) -Original standard Wonderbar radio -Dual exhaust, 2-barrel carb, 389 cu in engineOn Jan-15-13 at 10:58:27 PST, seller added the following information: Hi all, thank you for your questions, let me address some for everybody here. -I am brokering the car for an older gentleman in Indiana, while I am in VA. I met him when I used to work at out Camp Atterbury military base outside Indy. I have stayed at his house before and been there several times, so do consider him a friend. I bought my Chrysler 300 from him. I was always skeptical of the ads saying, "selling for a friend," but he is in his 70s, has a farm and does not use computer. I only have the few pictures I took last trip out as he has many other cars too and needs the money. I get a small finder's fee if I sell it. -Again, the car does run. The wiper linkage is good, the cover was only off to clean out any leaves from fall. -The trunk pan has some holes and should be replaced, I understand from him that other 1960 trunk pans from GMC or Chevy might fit. I think you can buy them new NOS. -He said the chasis is in good shape. -The floors on the interior are good but have a couple of small holes he said were easily patchable. I'm sorry I did not take more photos to show you the interior. The dash looks good and maybe the front seat, but I think the back is very worn and needs reapholster. -Someone asked me about the tranny, but he does not know other than it is an automatic. -I do have a reserve for him on this, not too high, not too low, as he indicated how hard it is to get one of these, especially in good condition. Please ask more if you would like. If you email me and want to talk directly I can give you my number. I do want all parties to be satisfied and happy. On Jan-15-13 at 12:17:27 PST, seller added the following information: PS- I have a relationship with a decent shipper that moved my Chrysler to VA from IN. I can help facilitate linking you with him as they already know the house and location. If anyone wants to buy a 1963 Chrysler 300, non-letter car and not running, I'm asking 2K for that. That one is at my house in VA.On Jan-16-13 at 06:10:35 PST, seller added the following information: I found a picture of the right side as well, attached here. Similar work as the left side. As you can see all the glass is there. On Jan-16-13 at 09:50:28 PST, seller added the following information: Two more notes today- the actual mileage is 74,094 so a little less than I said originally. Also if yo uwant to research the title it is: 360K2553.On Jan-19-13 at 08:06:44 PST, seller added the following information: I found one more picture from the front, looks good. Per someone's question it looks like a hardtop (no door post) vs a sedan (with door post). Tell me if you see differently. Only one more day so don't let it get away. The reserve is reasonable but not at the current price. On Jan-19-13 at 12:01:42 PST, seller added the following information: Last update, I just talked to the gentleman- it is indeed a hardtop "bubbletop," meaning all one piece, no posts. Also, he does have the fifth, spare wheel in the trunk, and all the glass is good except there is a crack (not a break) on the passenger side door.
