Vehicle Detail
Thank you for looking at my 1975 BMW R90/6. The bike had an extensive restoration in the early part of 2012. At that time the following was done: Compression check on both cylinders, valve adjustments, both carbs rebuilt, all grounds and wire connections checked and repaired as needed, new spark plugs, New Head Gaskets, new push rod tube seals, new oil pan gasket. Motor runs very well and performed wonderfully all summer long. The transmission has been rebuilt and all the splines in the shaft are tight and lubed. A new universal was also installed. Clutch is smooth and works well with no issues. A new neutral switch was installed this summer. New primary foot peg rubber was installed. New euro bend bars with stock BMW grips, throttle cable gears were lubed and roll smooth. Tires are new Metzlers front and rear; brakes have plenty of pad life left and were installed new before summer. Motor was pulled and the frame was painted glass black in base coat clear coat paint. All body panels were also painted using PPG, Base Coat Clear coat. Paint was done professionally and looks as so. The Exhaust is a Mac 2 in one complete set. It shows some bluing but cleans up well and sounds good. The stock exhaust will be sold with the bike. Seat is new and made from Sargent, It fits well and is comfortable for all day riding. The Fiberglass Hard Bags are period correct and refinished using the same PPG paint as the rest of the bike. Seals are tight and hold out the weather well. The chrome on the bike cleans up well, there is a small amount of wear on the mounts of the hard bag mounts that show their age, This section is where the mounts attach to the frame and the chrome shows its age at this mounting spot. It is not pitted just not bright chrome. New throttle cables were installed when the carbs were synchronized. Front rim cleans up very well and looks good. The rear rim shows some wear, however it rolls true. New front wheel bearings. The front stem bearings were repacked. Koni Adjustable rear shocks. Front forks are in good shape. Fork gators are like new. New braided German fuel lines and rebuilt petcocks were installed, the gas tank was also lined to ensure no rust issues for many years. Items keeping the bike from being perfect: There is a small ding on the tank and you really need to look for it to see it. I am sure it could pop out easily from the inside in the event that it bothers you. It does not have any choke cables installed, in the event my “buy it now” price is made I will include new Boxer Metal choke pulls for the bike. The tach cable and tach light bulb needs replaced. Center stand spring is tired. This bike runs very well and looks just as good. It has been voted best import vintage bike a number of times this summer. It always gets looks and brings in the conversation. I rode the bike over 3000 miles this summer and trust it to keep going for many more trouble free miles. Feel free to ask any and all questions.
