As before, the Camaro kept the exposed headlights and the Firebird its pop-up units, with some minor changes. The overall styling of the Firebird more strongly reflected the "Banshee IV" concept car than the 1991 "face lift" received by the Third Generation model.The mid-1995 and later models had a 200 hp 3.8 L V6 as the base engine, and the power rating of the LT1 had been raised to 285 in 1996, due to a new dual catalytic converter exhaust system. 1996 was also the first year of the OBD2 computer system.1996 was the first year the WS6 Performance Package was made available on 4th generation (93-02) Firebirds. For 1996 (and 1997) The WS6 Package was available on both the Formula and Trans am. The WS6 package included a larger 32mm front swaybar (base V8's being 30mm), a functional ram-air hood (similar to that of the 93-97 Firehawk, but with slightly different styling in the hood, and smaller air filter than the Firehawk), 17"x9" Wheels with 275/40 tires, and a WS6 Badge. Optional Bilstein Shocks were available, but not standard on the WS6 package. While there where no major changes to the '97 models from the previous year, a special edition LT4 Firehawk was available this year. With only 29 produced, the LT4 Firehawk used the same 330 hp, balanced and blue-printed LT4 engine found in the manual transmission 1996 Corvette. The 1997 Firehawk LT4 model, made by SLP Performance Parts and sold through Pontiac dealerships, had 330 hp (243 kW) and 340 lb·ft (459 Nm) of torque. Personal Description Up for auction with no reserve and a low opener is this stylish and sporty 1997 Pontiac Firebird Convertible finished in a gloss white with a black convertible top. This Firebird is by no means a show car but is far cleaner then most of this vintage. The engine fires right to life and idles smooth with no leaks or noises. The transmission shifts on time with no slips. The suspension handles tight around corners. The overall drive of the vehicle is above average considering these cars are known to be a little shaky All the tires have plenty of life left on them and the aftermarket chrome wheels look awesome with the white finish paint. The interior is in good condition overall with clean and rip free seats. The dash has a small crack as shown in the pics. The exterior is also in good overall condition with no corrosion or rust. There are a few minor imperfections such as pain chips on the hood tip and a few small scratches throughout the body. Please see the pics as we have shown the details of any flaws. .::Deposit::.
We require a $250 non refundable deposit immediately after winning the auction. You may pay this deposit via paypal. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of non-payment. We encourage you to inspect and test drive the vehicle BEFORE bidding, if you prefer not to inspect before bidding and you win the auction, and you do not complete full payment of the vehicle you will forfeit your deposit. Please do not bid on our vehicles unless you are prepared to win and pay for the vehicle.
.::Paying for your vehicle::.
Winning bidder must send $250.00 deposit immediately after the auction closes via PayPal and contact the dealership within 24 hours after the auction close to arrange full payment which is required within 3 days. Pick up or shipment of your vehicle is required within 14 days unless other arangments are made. We do not accept PayPal for full payment. Cash in person or cashiers checks are our acceptable payment methods. Due to fraud, at this time we are unable to accept credit cards or personal checks.
.::Vehicle Shipping::.
We do not provide shipping for any of our vehicles or motorcycles. Buyer is responsible to arrange shipping if needed. We will cooperate with your shipping company. Vehicles are available for pickup Mon-Fri between 10am & 5pm ONLY.
.::Vehicle Pickup::.
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY (Mon-Sat 10-5pm) After deposit has been sent, please contact us by phone within 24 hours after the auction has ended to make an appointment to pick up your vehicle. Full payment is due within 3 days after auction has ended. After vehicle is paid in full, we will hold the vehicle up to 30 days at no additional charge. Vehicles are available for buyer pickup Mon-Sat 10-5pm.
Fee and Tax Information: We have no additional fees or documentation fees that are added to your final bid, what you bid is what you pay. We are in business to sell cars, not collect meaningless fees.
Taxes & Registration (required by law)
Insurance is required to obtain all license plates
PA Residents pay PA Sales Tax and registration fees to a local private tag agency.
Out of State Residents will need a 30 day temporary transit plate (if not shipping vehicle) this temporary plate is purchased at a local PA private tag agency at an additional cost as low as $55 (depending on agency) You must pay your taxes and register your vehicle in your home state within 30 days.
