Vehicle Detail
"Yeller" is a daily driver, has plenty of personality and is always reliable. My intention was always to "finish" the car into a Cal-look quasi old school rod look cool cruiser. The paint is ok has some scratches, small dings, the glass is all good, my next step would've been to sand it down straighten it up for fit and finish purposes and re-paint it. The bumpers are chrome blades. All the lights work! (just saying) The interior is all black, cloth and vinyl, headliner, panels all in good shape. Front seats are out of a 71 with seat covers, I have the original seats. It is a 66 bug with all the quirks and exciting features of that era. Car is all 12 volt- w/generator. I planned on replacing the pans in the future, the battery area has been fixed with a screw in piece because of that, I also noticed some "daylight" near the pedal assembly. Having said all that I would drive it anywhere with a smile on my face. It does killer doughnuts in the snow! (BONUS) It is the original transaxle so it will jump out of 1st if you don't hold it in. Yeller needs a good home and someone who understands VW's and can appreciate life in a vintage VW. Strong points are new long-block, (less than 250 miles) stainless steel "euro" exhaust. (A guy told me yesterday it sounds like it has a HEMI in it, how do you answer that?) The engine deck lid has a ton of louvers in it very nicely done. I am running stainless steel "Moon Disks" as wheel covers. The reason I am selling is because we are down sizing and I have a 71 vert project. I don't have the resources to finish both. I am asking 2K firm. I don't care to entertain anything less so save your breath. If you take "Yeller" home you will have a faithful friend, you will hear endless bug stories from complete strangers, you will witness a hailstorm of "slug bug" beatings as you view oncoming traffic and on street corners. You will enter into an endless sea of peace signs from every VW enthusiast you see. So you will purchase a car and enter an adventure that will keep smiling daily. I have lots of parts and pieces I will throw in to sweeten the deal for anyone interested. Enjoy!
