This is the best running SL I have ever had the opportunity to drive. Definitely the fastest by far. No smoke and well maintained mechanically but definitely has been sitting for a while and it shows. The interior is ok the seats are great and so are the door panels. The lower passenger kick panel is torn, and the dash has the typical cracks. Unfortunately this car was not garaged for sometime and it shows. Luckily being a euro model it has MB Tex seats which wear alot better then leather in SL's. I drove it about 30 miles to my shop and it runs and stops well, starts right up and other then a slight valve cover seepage on the left side it has no leaks. It does not run hot and the brakes work well. I have not removed the hardtop and my friend who owns it says the soft top was ok last he had it up, but it has been a few years. This is a great car to restore, drive as is, or to use for the awesome drivetrain. It will blow the doors off a 560sl. It does have some rust in all the typical sl spots, front fenders rockers etc. It also has US bumpers on it but still has the Euro headlamps. I guess the importer swapped the bumpers.
