Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a Suzuki, limited production GS1000S Wes Cooley Replica. The GS1000S was produced for only two years - 1979 and 1980. For both of these years, the bikes featured a factory custom blue and white paint scheme, a special one-of-a-kind fairing and a gauge cluster unique to these models. The gauges include a temp gauge and a quartz clock not featured on any of the standard GS1000 bikes. This bike is a 1979 version, the FIRST year of production. This bike has just been serviced with:New batteryNew NGK spark plugsNew synthetic oil change with new filterNew EBC brake pads and new fluid for all three calipers (front and rear). New fork seals installed with new fluid. Sliders had been polished and clear coated. Most all hardware such as axles, axle spacers, bolts, etc. have been polished.New engine emblems. Note that the ignition cover emblem is from a newer GS as the older style ones are not available.Engine covers (ignition, clutch, and stator) have been stripped, re-polished and satin finished, and clear coated.Bike has been fitted with a Dyna S electronic, maintenance-free ignition. (I can replace this with the original dual points ignition if you are a purist.)The clock works!! Not all examples of this bike still have a working clock.Carbs have been cleaned and the top covers and drain bowls have been polished and clear coated.Bike starts easily, idles and shifts well. Full Disclosure:The paint is excellent for a 34 year old bike but not perfect. There are a few minor flaws especially in the front fender that I tried to show in the photos. In spite of the minor flaws, this is one of the finest examples of an original S bike you are likely to find posted on Ebay. There are a couple tiny dings in the tank. And some paint chips in the "seam" at the bottom of the tank. Petcock is a 1980 model (slightly different from the 1979 model)Rubber gasket between the fairing and gauges is missing. This is very common for these bikes.Title was lost. Most states including Connecticut do not require a title for a bike this old. If you positively do require a title, International Title Services can provide a title along with registration for a fee. I apoligize for this inconvenience. I know that the ad says "Clear Title", but you can't post without selecting one of the title options. Questions? Please contact me before the auction ends at 860-302-9224. Reserve is set at $6,000 for those interested. I will not reduce the reserve or buy-it-now price. The bike is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Good luck bidding. Mike On Oct-29-12 at 03:05:24 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: I cannot find the title for this bike. Most states, including Connecticut, do not require a title for motorcycles older than 1981. International Title Services can provide a title for this bike if you absolutely must have one. I apologize for this inconvenience. Mike
