Vehicle Detail
Here for sale I have my 1973 Volkswagen Transporter. 46,472 original miles is what I was told...I had planned on restoring this bus, but have lost m y place to store it and must sell A.S.A.P. It was originally red and white. The engine idled well but had low compression on #3 so I pulled it out planning on doing a full rebuild, although it prolly just needs a valve job, or rings (set of 3 rings included) As can be seen in the photos, the body needs work along the bottom , but pretty straight forward. The underside was rustproofed and is in great shape for the year making this an excellent restoration candidate.I rescued this bus about two months ago from a friend whom was gonna let it sit for the rest of his life, whom told me it would just need a battery but.... pffft.... It has the following new parts.... New Tires - Hankook 808 - These are the best tires to get for a vw bus!! over $500 installed. New Starter New ignition wiring harness - Installed by a professional New Battery New positive/ground cable + trans. ground cable New Hot start solenoid New Timing scale / New belt New Bosch plugs / New Bosch plug cables New Brake rotors on the front New Calipers/pads/hardware on the front New- all four brake hoses New- Wheel cylinders/shoes/hardware New- Bosch H4 Headlights / housings New- fuel lines/ fuel filters New EMPI plastic glove box/ fuse cover/ and random hoses.. I also had both carbs rebuilt!! New paint on the pedal cover and both bumpers affirms it's trip back from the darkside....The dash was cut, I installed the wood laminate panel that I was going to cut a head unit into...... The bus also includes the following new parts... 5 qt. Castrol HD 30w 3x Mahle oil filters / oil washer another new set of plugs a lighter switch an extra ignition switch another new belt Full Distributer rebuild Two packs of Bosch fuses Random gaskets/ brake parts EMPI 46mm axle nut slammer EMPI carb sync NEW fresh air hosesSet of three NOS piston rings So she is well on her way from the darkside, would make an excellent candidate for a full restoration...I have treated her with nothing but love since I've owned her and hope to find her a happy home.Breaks my heart to sell as I had planned on doing so much to her...Must move this bus ASAP, so Must sell!! clean title. On Dec-25-12 at 20:44:30 PST, seller added the following information:Add. 12/25 - To answer some questions.... Yes, the engine is still out, I had pulled the engine and was going to send it out to get rebuilt. No it doesn't HAVE to be rebuilt. It likely needs a valve job, or a rebuilt head can be bought for 200 at bus depot. It may just need rings which are included!! But to make it a RELIABLE daily driver a rebuild is best. The stand is not included....It looks exactly as pictured, prolly also needing exaust, Hard to see in the pic is as typical for a MI bus the pass. heater box is fucked... drivers side looks pretty good. I copied and pasted this info. from my local ad. It is for sale locally @2300 and I have interested parties, so since I already have it on here I will channel all to here with a BIN... It can be viewed 12/26 in the evening or 27th before auctions ends. I can be reached by phone/text @sixonesix3757465On Dec-25-12 at 20:52:45 PST, seller added the following information:Hmmmm, seems I can't change to have a BIN... so I guess it goes auction style for all.... tHanks for looking
