mbclassic Store 1979 Lincoln Mark V Coupe Only Two Owners from New VIN: 9Y89S701964 So, where else are you buying your clean, low-mileage, original Lincolns anyway? Reluctantly, this car was turned over to us by a long-term, local owner this week. The odometer now reads only 74,756 and, based on the owner’s history recitation, is felt to represent LOW, ORIGINAL miles. Think about it, this Lincoln has averaged less than 2,300 miles per year since new! The medium blue fabric interior is quite nice and original! All the power extras are here including the windows, door locks, eight-way seats, power steering and brakes. Even the vacuum powered headlight doors open and shut properly! Please contact me directly with any questions. My name is Mark Thompson and I can be reached at 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to stop by my Auburn, WA warehouse to test-drive the car. CONDITION Ever spent an afternoon driving a classy, vintage Lincoln coupe? What a treat! Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth powerful acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway. Comfort, styling, and versatility all in one gorgeous ride. For my money, these Mark V Series Coupes are one of the best values for the overall driving experience that a vintage Lincoln has to offer. Look over my photos and I’m sure you’ll agree what a find this is. What you’re viewing is the result of a wash and vacuum only! “Time capsule” is a good adjective to use when describing this car. I know you’ll admire its overall provenance. All the glass is good. The paint appears to be original. Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, this boulevard cruiser HATES body rust and you’d be hard pressed to find anything to worry about here. Yes, the Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are rarely salted. We only have one or two days of light snow each year. Everyone panics and stays home. Inside you’ll find nearly untouched, great original fabric upholstery front and back. I’m quite impressed with the condition of the dash gauges. They are as clear and bright as the day this rig left the Michigan plant one day nearly 33 years ago! You’ve gotta love the factory-installed eight-track “Quadrasonic” sound system! The carpets are clean & original with no sun fade. The headliner is perfect and the Cartier dash clock still keeps accurate time! Mechanically the car is strong. Even after sitting in our warehouse for a few days at a time the car never fails to start right up at the first crank. You just can’t beat the great 460 CID motors in these mid-70’s coupes! Just pump the gas a few times, turn the key and it starts instantly, even when cold. The automatic three-speed C-6 Transmission shifts great and we all know how good these Ford/Lincoln rear ends are! The brakes feel just fine to me too. All four alloy wheels are straight and the 225/75R15 radials have at least 60% rubber remaining. I’ve spent several days cruising both freeways and city streets and can find no fault with the way this Coupe runs or drives out. I have no problem encouraging bidders to do what many of our previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, California, the east coast, Canada and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in here to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport just a few miles from us. I’m happy to pick you up there and you can begin the drive home the same day! Yes, I have every confidence this Coupe can be driven cross-country. TERMS OF SALE: You’re encouraged to check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! Come by my Auburn, WA warehouse and drive the Lincoln if you’re in the area. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Additionally, we reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed upon. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction’s end. The remaining balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. I can accept payment by MasterCard, VISA, American Express or Discovery with only a small transaction fee. Remember, you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You are not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the vehicle later! Please BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a nice car from a respected Ebay seller. I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that’s the main goal! Please don’t be upset if I miss a minor flaw or you are required to spend a small amount on an unforeseen problem! No used car is ever perfect. Having said that, I have every confidence this vehicle can be driven cross-country tomorrow. SHIPPING THE CAR: When it comes to transporting the Lincoln most of our U.S. and Canadian buyers have used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They’re the biggest in the business and are partnered with Ebay. Their website has a free cost calculator you might find helpful and their number is (800) 830-1787. Alternatively, you may also want several transport bids from the www.U-ship.com website. Delivery contractors will email quotes and you'll be able to choose who you might want to use. The zip code for pick-up on my end is 98002 (Auburn, WA). As always, the transport of the car and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER and I’ll be happy to work with whoever you choose. You may keep the Lincoln stored at my warehouse for up to 15 days after the auction closes assuming full payment has been received. After this time I charge $15/day. Please Note: We will NEVER, EVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of eBay rules and also Federal Law). Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that new Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. As I’ve outlined above, the phone number to talk directly to me is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Please check the photos over closely and call with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to inspect the vehicle at my Auburn, WA warehouse so send your representative early to be sure you don't miss this one. We reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Additionally I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed to. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. I can accept payment on MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and Discover by sending an invoice through the PayPal system. On Dec-21-12 at 10:04:08 PST, seller added the following information: Several astute auction followers have pointed out the "S" in the VIN designates the engine as a 400CID V8 rather than a 460CID. Thanks for the info and sorry for my mistake! --Mark
