Vehicle Detail

bought this truck in georgia this summer. brought it back to ohio and started working on it. here is what i have done to it . first i sanded the whole truck with 150 grit sand paper. thats when i discovered it was original paint. where the paint was thin it came off. but since the fenders had great patina, i decided to leave it alone. and is what you see here. i used ospho on the whole truck, which is a rust treatment. then i sprayed it with rustoleum rust inhibitore. it looks cool . each of the front fenders had 2 spots that required a patch welded in and a little putty to smooth out. one at the very bottom by the running board. and the other right above the seam where the fender brace is. i did not paint over any of the patches and you can see them in the pictures. it did require a new cab corner on the drivers side, the pass side corner was fairly decent, but did need some bondo. not much. the rear fenders were solid, the pass side was just about perfect. the drivers side was dented in 2 spots. i pounded it out and used some mud to smooth it out. tail gate is good, but has had some gate hinges applied some years ago, but it works well. the floor of the truck was not perfect but fairly solid i will post pictures from under the truck to show the 2 small holes. i put some sheet metal over them before it laid down the carpet. seat is out of a mini van, and it fits in there well. frame is very good almost perfect. i put in 12 volt ignition and 12 volt lights. but i disconected the gauges so i would not fry the 6 volt system. it even has a little bit of brake. i put new tires on it. the windsheild and rear window are not cracked but have some fogging around the edges. the drivers window is not there but the track and regulator are there.the floor of the bed is a stamped piece os seel over the wooden floor. not perfet but usable and looks to be original. this tuck has headlights and taillights and brake lights. the bottom of the doors had carpet glued on them and kept the bottom of the door wet which in turn rusted them, i will take close up pictures of these. the truck starts easy. BUT it is hard to get it to idle down. also no. 1 cylinder has no compression. i do not know if it is a valve issue or a piston ring problem. and there is some internal engine noise when running. but not a rod knocking, i thought maybe generater was locking up but took the fan belt off. and the noise is still there, it is at the very front of the motor. so if you bid on it. it should have the motor rebuilt or hot rod it with a newer v-8. i did not get a rear bumper for it when i bought the truck. i do have a clear ohio title in my name. if you have any questions give me a call 330-280-0926 mick
