Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this very nice 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. After many years of car restoration, my son had the idea to find and restore a Fiero. I almost bought one new in 1987...so I thought that would be cool. He wanted a five-speed car, but this is all we found after months and months of searching. We looked at most Fieros in the area that we could find....they were mostly trashed. Really in bad shape. The owners still wanted more than $2K for all of them! We couldn't believe it! We finally found this car and proceeded to restore it. Soon after we began, the engine threw a crank bearing....so we had to rebuild the engine along with everything else. We think that it turned out really nice. It seems to be a head turner. In the meantime, we found a nice five-speed car to restore, so this one was finished and is now offered for sale. Unfortunately, there just aren't a lot of people out there who know and appreciate these cars...especially in a small, local marketplace, so I've decided to list this as my first car on Ebay. Unlike many of the 25 year old Fieros out there, this one has been gone through. You can buy it knowing that there's not much that needs to be looked at. We have receipts (that go with the purchase) for $3,581.30+ of parts. Will will also include all photos of the rebuild process. Here is what has been repaired/replaced: New rear tires/alignment, Refinish Tail lights, transmission service, new carpet pad, repaired original seat covers, new brake pads, new oil pan gasket, spark plugs, plug wires, intake gaskets, fuel filter, rotor and cap, starter, valve cover gaskets, front shocks and rear struts. New rear quarter glass windowns with decals, re-attach rear view mirror, Engine machining, clean and bore and prep, timing cover gasket, new water pump, exhaust manifold gaskets, new crankshaft and bearings, fuel injector o rings, thermostat, new motor mounts and nuts, new radiator hoses, new transmission mount, new passenger side rear axle, transmission seal, axle seals, oil pressure sending unit, exhaust flange, intake hose, air cleaner assembly, new piston and all new rings, new manifold bolts, wiper blades, valve job on heads, moulding clips, new power window switches, new radiator caps, new belts, new muffler, replacement gas gauge, new low range horn, repair third brake light, intalled windshield decal and rear window decal. Installed new "Fiero" and " Fisher body" logo rocker panel bolt covers. Removed complete interior, cleaned, re-dyed, repaired. re-painted inside of engine deck lid, inside of front deck lid. re-painted/repaired all moulding, re-painted mirrors. Painted engine block and valve covers and intake cover. The car was originally a silver car that was painted this red when we purchased it. It looked like it had been painted in a barn. We had intended to repaint it, due to some of the nicks and dings. Instead we spent two weeks wet sanding and buffing it. It turned out so shiny that we decided that, even thought the paint wasn't perfect, it was better than most Fieros that we have seen. There are some thin spots in the paint along with a few nicks and dings...but I would rate the paint a strong 8 out of 10. Other than one dark spot on the passenger seat bottom, the interior is perfect. Comes with sunroof shade and original Fiero bag. Has original spare and jack in front compartment. The car starts and drives great! We have sorted through most of the issues with the exception of not charging the A/C and the power mirror switch. We bought a used switch, but it did not work. I am sure that a new switch would take care of that. The cruise control did work before we removed the engine cradle, but now does not work. We may get that sorted out before the car is sold. That's it....otherwise, everything has been gone through. I don't think that you can purchase too many Fieros like this. I know that I am going to lose money on this car, but it was a fun father and son project. I'd like to recover my parts costs at least. The car is 25 years old but now you can have the confidence of buying a Fiero that has been done right and drives like a new car. I will require a $500 deposit immediatley with Paypal, so please don't bid if you can't do this. The balance is due within three days. The car is available for inspection anytime during the auction. I will email you any futher pictures as you require. Please just let me know what you want to see. As the car is also being advertised locally, I reserve the right to end this auction anytime. Even though this is the first time I have listed a car with Ebay, I have been a member almost from the start. I highly value my feedback and reputation. Check out my feedback and other auction items. I have set the reserve at $3,900. Thanks for looking. Rich Check out the new video of the car...the link is below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYKGFtnGJOg
