Passat had been around since 1990, as Volkswagen's biggest automobile. Compared to the previous Passat, the new model was about 3 inches longer in wheelbase, 4 inches longer overall, and about an inch wider and taller. The new look reflected the crescent-form styling that had first been seen in sedans from Audi (which was owned by VW).Passat came in 4-door sedan and station wagon body styles. Introduced first was a GLS with Audi's 1.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Wagons came only with the 4-cylinder this year. A 5-speed manual transmission was standard on GLS models. Mechanical This 2003 B5 PassatGLS remains in excellent condition all around. It is mechanically in great condition running strong and handling well. It is a pleasure to offer a well maintained vehicle such as this one. Our ASE certified mechanic has preformed a standard pre-sale inspection on the vehicle and along the process discovered no issues mechanically or electronically, it simply passed with flying colors. The clutch is smooth and shifts into all 5 gears with no issues. The steering is tight and does not pull to left or right, driving down the highway as straight as an arrow. The CV joints are tight with no noises, as these Passats are known to occasionally need these parts replaced. Our mechanic states it shows they have recently been serviced. All the fluids are clean and recently serviced as well. This Passat shows all the signs of being well cared for in every aspect. INTERIOR The smoke free original interior is clean and free from any rips or tears. I drove this vehicle myself of a 45 minute road test and I confirm that all the electronics work as they should. The power sun / moonroof, the CD player, stereo, power mirrors, power windows, power locks, wipers, rear wiper, defrost, heat, and a/c all work as they did in 03 when this vehicle drove off the VW dealership lot. OVERALL As I stated above, I personally drove this Passat myself for a 45 minute road trip, and I must say she is a pleasure to drive. The 1.8T turbo engine is great on gas without sacrificing power when needed. It is a very comfortable car in many ways and will make you a very proud new owner. A great car for traveling, families, or personal use with plenty of room for extras. The B5 Passat is known by VW enthusiasts as one of the most comfortable daily driving vehicles, and the GLS waggon is everything you need in every category. The clutch is smooth and shifts into all 5 gears with no issues. The steering is tight and does not pull to left or right, driving down the highway as straight as an arrow. The CV joints are tight with no noises, as these Passats are known to occasionally need these parts replaced. Our mechanic states it shows they have recently been serviced. All the fluids are clean and recently serviced as well. This Passat shows all the signs of being well cared for in every aspect.
INTERIOR
The smoke free original interior is clean and free from any rips or tears. I drove this vehicle myself of a 45 minute road test and I confirm that all the electronics work as they should. The power sun / moonroof, the CD player, stereo, power mirrors, power windows, power locks, wipers, rear wiper, defrost, heat, and a/c all work as they did in 03 when this vehicle drove off the VW dealership lot.
OVERALL
As I stated above, I personally drove this Passat myself for a 45 minute road trip, and I must say she is a pleasure to drive. The 1.8T turbo engine is great on gas without sacrificing power when needed. It is a very comfortable car in many ways and will make you a very proud new owner. A great car for traveling, families, or personal use with plenty of room for extras. The B5 Passat is known by VW enthusiasts as one of the most comfortable daily driving vehicles, and the GLS waggon is everything you need in every category. BY APPOINTMENT ONLY (Mon-Sat 10-5pm) After deposit has been sent, please contact us by phone within 24 hours after the auction has ended to make an appointment to pick up your vehicle. Full payment is due within 3 days after auction has ended. After vehicle is paid in full, we will hold the vehicle up to 30 days at no additional charge. Vehicles are available for buyer pickup Mon-Sat 10-5pm.
Fee and Tax Information: We have no additional fees or documentation fees that are added to your final bid, what you bid is what you pay. We are in business to sell cars, not collect meaningless fees.
Taxes & Registration (required by law)
Insurance is required to obtain all license plates
PA Residents pay PA Sales Tax and registration fees to a local private tag agency.
Out of State Residents will need a 30 day temporary transit plate (if not shipping vehicle) this temporary plate is purchased at a local PA private tag agency at an additional cost as low as $55 (depending on agency) You must pay your taxes and register your vehicle in your home state within 30 days.
