Vehicle Detail
Brief Background: I've put quite a bit of money into this car. It's been my baby and project for quite some time now. The car has a $4000.00 paint job and over $4000.00 in parts on it. . .on TOP of the price of the car. I understand cars are a bad investment but hey, it's all in fun and getting them running and looking like they should right? If I kept it, I'd go down the LS1 road and I really don't want to hack up a nice car like this for a Frankenstein project. I want someone to get this thing and enjoy it. On that note, I'm listing the car for sale.. Year: 1998 Make: Nissan Model: 240SX Trim: SE Miles: 111,XXX (Driven Daily so mileage will change) State: FL City: Jacksonville I have a 1998 240sx SE for sale with a 5 speed manual transmission that is basically better than factory new. I have gone over this car from head to toe restoring it and have finally finished the project. The car wasn't in bad condition to begin with but in order for me to be happy with a car, I have to get everything as close to perfect as humanly possible. I've done that with this car and I feel it's time to move on. All glass was removed for the paint job and the factory Nissan black paint was used with a Mercedes Benz ceramic clear coat which is much more durable and scratch resistant than standard clears. The car was painted by Eddie at Fleming Island Auto Body. He can testify to the prep work and quality materials used for this car ($4000.00). I am personally buffing it to a perfect shine after wet sanding down to 4000 grit. There is no orange peel, no rock chips, no dents, scrapes or anything of that nature. I focused on converting the car from an automatic into a manual using brand new OEM Nissan parts ($750.00) with the exception of an Exedy Stage 1 clutch ($280.00) for added holding capabilities and a Z1 Motorsports one piece driveshaft ($300.00). No corners were cut and everything functions as it should. All brand new bushings were installed for the entire driveline causing the car to lose its 111,000 mile feel and becoming just as tight and responsive as a brand new car off the show room floor if not better. The car rides on a set of Bridgestone Pole Position 930 tires ($640.00) wrapped around factory wheels which have been freshly rotated and balanced ($64.99) . The car drives laser straight due to a one week old alignment ($110.00) and brand new steering rack bushings ($34.99). The car was given a more aggressive tone while still maintaining a low profile with a brand new 2.5" stainless steel BRM cat-back exhaust ($560.00 During all of this maintenance and upgrade work, all fluids were flushed and changed with factory specified fluids. Everything on this car was completed by the book and sometimes we threw the book out and went above and beyond. . .which is the majority of the time. You're basically buying a brand new 240sx in 2012. The car has been freshly detailed from top to bottom and is ready for a new home. Here is a more comprehensive list of maintenance/replacement parts installed on the car within the past few months. All parts have less than 1000 miles total on them. Brand new Exedy clutch and flywheel Brand new Napa Premium rotors/pads Brand new power steering pump Brand new ES suspension bushings Brand new Nismo sub frame bushings Brand new tie rod ends Brand new 5 speed transmission swap Brand new BRM 2.5" exhaust Brand new powder coated engine bay brackets Brand new powder coated valve cover Brand new ES steering rack bushings Brand new Z1 Motorsports one piece driveshaft Brand new windshield Brand new windshield lower trim and top weather stripping Brand new rear window weather stripping Brand new windshield wipers and black powder coated wiper arms Brand new powder coated engine brackets Brand new exhaust hanger bushings Brand new Tomei shift knob Brand new OEM radio bezel Brand new Alpine Type S speakers Brand new DDM HID 5000k Kit for low beams and fog lights Brand new $4000.00 paint job Bridgestone 930 Pole Position Tires(less than 5000 miles) Deleted EGR Mint Interior with brand new OEM floor mats Not a single crack in any interior panel/dash components Drives Flawlessly Shifts smoothly with ZERO grinds All new brake, clutch, transmission, engine oil, power steering and radiator fluids (all systems flushed) One week old alignment and tire rotate and balance Very tight and responsive Gets 25+ MPG No dents, scratches or swirls on body All wheels are in great condition This car has better *perfect* paint than factory, has tighter (BUT STILL BEARABLE) suspension and steering, all new fluids, always kept up with maintenance and has well over $8000.00 in new items installed. If you want a better than factory functioning/looking car, you have come to the right place. Never been raced, never been drifted. I'm a middle aged owner who wanted to keep this car in the best condition possible and replace/restore any and all parts that didn't match my standards (I'm a detailer with OCD so yeah, they're pretty damn high). I don't beat on my cars and I'm very detail oriented when it comes to general upkeep. The only things this car needs is: A sunroof gasket - I would have replaced it but I'm not able to find one in my recent searches. They don't cost much, it's just a matter of finding one! Valve Seals - The car will very randomly smoke a little on start up. I've taken the car to a mechanic and he verified compression is perfect across all cylinders, leak down test was passed with flying colors and we ruled everything internally out. I believe the valve seals will need to eventually be replaced. I wasn't worried with it due to the very rare occasion that it may puff a little smoke on start up. SES Light - This goes without saying. As previously mentioned, the car was given an automatic to manual transmission swap. The only codes being thrown are for the missing automatic transmission due to still having a automatic ECU. The manual transmission ECUs are quite hard to find and, like the sunroof gasket, are very hard to come by. The car starts, idles, run, fully pulls through the entire RPM range and has ZERO problems. This is just showing that the computer doesn't see an automatic present. If a manual ECU is swapped into it, the SES light and codes will be eliminated. Not looking for any trades and none will be considered so please do not ask. Also, I will not ship the car unless the buyer pays for shipping IN FULL along with the payment for the car IN FULL and all funds are verified. I will NOT take Paypal for this car or anything of that nature. I have the clear title in hand and ready to sell the car today. Please keep in mind, the car was painted two months ago so this is with ZERO sealers, ZERO wax, ZERO glaze. I refuse to possibly jeopardize the paint job on this car to make it look better for pictures. **At the end of this auction, all funds and transportation are to be paid for IN FULL within 7 days with a NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $1000.00 due immediatly.
