Vehicle Detail
BMW 740iL 128,600 miles I have owned this vehicle for 19 months and have only had one issue with it (the battery drained because I left my Garmin plugged in for two weeks while my car was parked at the airport. As a result I purchased a new battery). It runs well, obtains highway speeds quickly, and looks sharp. The body is in excellent shape. The interior is in decent condition. We get oil changes every three months (synthetic oil). Clear title, in hand and in my name. The car looks sharp and has many miles left on it. I have one key (keyless entry), the car manual, two 6-disk CD changers (in the trunk). The car has heated front seats, a power sunroof, power doors and windows. We are selling because after combining households we have 5 cars, only 2 of which we are keeping. I was resistant to getting rid of this as it is a beautiful and classy car. While the benefits of this car outweigh the negatives, I will attempt to nitpick the car (but I HIGHLY encourage you to come and take it for a test drive and assess on your own). Here are things I find: the leather seats have some surface scratches (not ripped, but simply surface marks that could be fixed with a leather treatment, not too noticeable but see photos); there is a transition strip missing on the floor between the carpet and door entrance (see photo); the “check engine”, airbag, and brake lights are all on (I had the car serviced and was told that the breaks were fine, the airbags are fine, and the check engine light is due to a fuse); at parking lot speeds the power steering is weak; the front cup holder that folds out with a button is broken; and the glove box is locked shut and will not open. I realize that these are minor things, but we wanted you to know everything before you make an offer (in case you do not have a chance to see it in person). We cannot find anything else wrong with the car, but again we suggest seeing the car for yourself. Please email with questions. Payment and pickup can be arranged anytime between auction end and December 20th. If you fly in to obtain the car we can arrange to meet you at the Columbus, OH, airport (CMH).
