Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1930 Model A Ford Coupe. This car is an actual barn find. I have included a posting from the gentleman that found the car below. This car starts, runs and drives. I was looking forward to building it as a period correct hot rod but after finishing another (2 year) project and a health issue that at times zaps my energy I don’t feel up to tackling this one. So I’d like to see it go to someone who can build their dream hot rod or ? The car is very complete. For those not familiar during the war trucks were allowed a higher gas ration so it was common to see these Model A’s with truck beds installed in them such as this one. This is somewhat of a historical piece. Please serious only no games, no scammers etc. I didn't fall off the old turnip truck yesterday. **One note: there is no door glass or window regulators in either door both are readily available. P.S. I can send u more pics these are all I had on my laptop at the moment. Thank You. From the person that found this car…. I picked this little coupe up in Montana last fall on a tin hunting trip. It was in a barn that had collapsed around it. The story was it had sat for over 50 years in this barn. During the War they converted it to pickup and did a nice job to get extra gas rations during wartime. The bed is from a Model T and in excellent condition. I wanted to keep the coupe because I have had blast driving it over the last few months, however I need to finish my '32 and they are not cheap. The body is typical Montana solid steel with only a little rust on the lower cowl and quarters. It has all the glass ( except door glass) and garnish moldings. Doors open and shut nicely. I had Bert’s Model A center here in Denver check it out and get it going. I spent over $1,200 with them. The coupe runs great and has good Babbitt, compression and starts easy. It has a little blow by from the breather tube, however the more I drive it and get it hot the more rings seat and the less smoke from the breather. -Rebuilt Zenith carb -Leakless water pump -Good used Radiator -Rebuilt Generator -new under hood wiring -Complete Tune up and set timing. -clean gas tank -New 6 volt battery Brakes work well and shift well; the second gear bearing is making some noise and may need to be replaced in the future. The coupe runs great and I have driven it all over.
