1998 Volkswagen Jetta TDI for sale, 170,688 miles. This car has consistently performed at 47-50 mpg, 4 seasons a year! All maintenance records on hand, timing belt and water pump up to date. Block plug heater installed, works like a charm, no winter startup issues. 4 summer tires w/1 month use on them, almost brand new; 4 studded winter tires with only 1/2 winter of use, alloy rims, Pioneer stereo with CD, moonroof, AC recharged last summer. Rust beginning under driver's side door and under left rear taillight (see pictures), otherwise very clean and underside sprayed every year at Carrara's hot oil undercoating in Rutland, VT (car was in Texas before coming to Vermont 4 years ago). The engine has a probable bad ECU--reads ghost codes sometimes, and the car is about to burn through its second throttle position sensor in 4 years. Turbo is in and out, has been that way since I got the car and hasn't affected mileage, and the brakes need adjusting. A little experienced tinkering is going to keep this car on the road for a long time!!
