Here is a great candidate and great running restoration project and rare Wagon of the GM family 1968 Impala Station Wagon. California car from birth still sporting California black and yellow plates front and back. I was told this is a one owner car or one family owned car. This wagon starts right up and runs incredibly good. Transmission shifts effortlessly there are no signs of black smoke nor white smoke no engine rattlings or major shaking this car mechanically is very healthy. Engine seems to be a small block Chevy. I am not sure whether it is the original engine or not. From the looks of it seems to be a 327 although the fender side badges say 307 on one side and 396 on the other one. For sure does not have a 396 in it :) The interior is in pretty nice shape and would clean up pretty good. the headliner is falling down and needs to be either replaced or glue spray back on. It seats 6 people 3 in the front 3 in the back and has a very generous back storage compartment. The passenger side fender has been rinkled up due to an apparent collision. This wagon was given to me in this exact condition and no specific history was given other than the fact that it was owned by the same family since new. Although a california car there are some rusted parts though only in very specific points. The floor pans inside are very solid and underneath the car has no cancer although on the outside there are some rusted thru areas.
