Vehicle Detail

Up for grabs is a very nice 1997 Yukon GT. The Yukon GT was a rare sport model that featured monochromatic paint, a sport grille, and painted front and rear bumpers. These were GMC’s answer to the Chevrolet Tahoe Sport. I removed the “Yukon GT” decals from the bottom of the doors and replaced them with newer style emblems to give her a clean, updated look. I do have pictures of the original decals to verify that it is a true GT. If you are viewing this, then you likely know how rare it is to find these 2-door full sized SUV's, and even more difficult to find one that has been babied. This vehicle was bought as a toy to go hunting and fishing with, but I think it is too nice to just sit around waiting for me to take her out. I have invested a lot of time and money to bring her back up to daily driver status. The previous two owners included a GM service technician and a Union Pacific Railroad employee that drove the truck from his acreage into town daily (mostly highway miles). Both took great care of this vehicle, and serviced her regularly. No, this is not new paint, it is the original paint, and it is in great condition. It was recently machine polished and looks awesome. It helps that the previous two owners always kept it garaged. The 17" wheels and tires are off a newer GMC truck and compliment this vehicle very nicely. The body is clean and straight. I had a Paintless dent specialist remove the 4-5 door dings in the body. The paint and clearcoat have a high gloss shine. The black cherry paint looks great any time of day. The frame and undercarriage have been coated, not with messy undercoating, but with high-end truck bed coating. The motor is a good running 5.7L motor. It has plenty of power to turn the tires over, but looks to never have been abused. I recently had it tuned up with new AC Delco plugs, cap and rotor. The transmission shifts smooth through the gears, and the truck runs down the road and stops smoothly. The push button four-wheel drive engages properly and the four wheel drive is in good working order. The transmission and motor have new fluid and filters, and with the exception of one minor drip of oil from a cooler line, it has no leaks. As with many of the GM's of this era, the sending unit in the gas tank is bad. The part is around $60.00, but most people like me have just gotten use to pushing the trip odometer when you fill up. Not worth the money to fix when this method never fails......well almost never (if you forget, Ha!) The battery was replace 30 days ago! The interior is in very good condition when you consider the age of this truck. The seats are clean, with no rips or tears, and the leather looks awesome. There are no bad smells, and does not appear to have ever been smoked in. The lumbar seats, power windows and locks all work, and includes factory keyless entry. The only negative is a few burned out bulbs in the factory radio. It works fine along with the CD player. As I stated, I would love to keep this truck around as a toy, but it would be a shame to not let someone else benefit from a vehicle that has been taken care of. This truck was the Yukon Denali of its day. You will not be ashamed to own or drive this truck regardless of your socio-economic status. That is one reason I prefer nice older trucks like this. The only mistake this SUV ever made was getting driven. Please email me your questions. Serious parties please! It is important to remember that this is a used vehicle, and is not off the showroom floor. It does not come with a warranty. I have tried to go through the vehicle to describe it to the best of my ability. It is the bidders responsiblity to inspect, or have the vehicle inspected prior to bidding. The vehicle will be for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Good Luck, and thanks for reading! On Dec-12-12 at 20:20:32 PST, seller added the following information: The vehicle history report indicated that there was an accident reported. The previous owner informed me that someone had backed into the passenger side quarter panel in front of the rear tire. It was minor damage, and was repaired at a professional body shop. The reserve is low, so feel free to bid!
