Vehicle Detail
mbclassic Store 1976 Ford F150 XLT Ranger “High-Boy” Style Pickup VIN: F14YRA52838 Back on November 11, 1975 Mr. Linc Noe walked into the showroom of Happy Day Ford in the town of Caldwell, Idaho. It was time to replace his old rig, used as a daily driver for his building supply business, with a new 4x4. This “high-boy” fit the bill perfectly and off he drove with just a little haggling. He would own the pickup for the next 30 years before turning it over to a family member. Several weeks ago it came to us for resale to a lucky new owner. Please feel free to contact me with questions. My name is Mark Thompson and my number is (206)914-1173. Please take a good look at my photos. With just a casual glance you might think this is just another ol’ truck. But, just like I did, look a little closer and you’ll realize what a find this thing really is! The first hint is when you check for rust in the usual spots. There really just isn’t any! For those of you not familiar with the Pacific Northwest, we get our share of misty rain, but hardly ever any snow. At the first sign of a falling flake everyone panics and stays home. School is cancelled and business grinds to a stop from “sick” workers calling in. Truth is, our winter roads are rarely salted, so you’ll find VERY few vehicles here with rust issues! Please feel free to climb over, under and around this rig - I know you’ll come up smiling! This truck has a great-running 360 engine. It starts right up with just a few cranks and runs fine. The transmission is strong and I believe there are 3.50 gears in the rear pumpkin. We received the original factory invoice & dealer warranty card (in like-new condition) with the title. Here’s how the VIN & data plate codes break down: F14 – Ford F150 4x4 Y - 360 Cu. In. engine w/ four Barrel carb R - San Jose Assembly Plant S - Bright Dark Blue Metallic 73 - Salt Lake City Sales District G - Three-speed Ford Cruise-O-Matic Transmission 16 - 3.50 Rear Axel 133 inch wheelbase The factory invoice specifies the Ranger XLT Package, power steering, air conditioning (needs a recharge), AM radio, ammeter/oil pressure gauges, rear step bumper, protection group, carrier spare tire-slide out and chrome swing mirrors. There are also TRIPLE fuel tanks that I haven’t fully figured out how to switch between yet. The carpet’s OK overall but has a burn hole on the passenger’s side of the tranny tunnel. I’m certain the ashtray’s never been used for anything other than coin storage. Look at the pics of the bench seat. The original fabric is virtually flawless! The door panels also are original and are in very good shape – no fading or UV-induced vinyl breakdown. Outside you’ll find a quality respray of the factory blue metallic paint. All four wheels are wrapped with quality radials with plenty of remaining tread all around. Please feel free to email or contact me during the auction. As mentioned above, my name is MARK and my direct number is 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn, WA warehouse to drive and inspect the truck. Please also consider making an offer before the end of the auction, as many of our vehicles sell to smart “early birds” that call with an offer prior to the auction’s end. I always reserve the right to sell during this period. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Please Note: WE will NEVER, EVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of eBay rules and also Federal Law). Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that new eBay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Please check the photos over closely and call with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! I make every effort to describe vehicles as accurately as possible, but am sure there’s always a missed detail or two. You’re encouraged to inspect the truck at our premises on weekdays, so send your representative early to be sure you don't miss this one. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days of the auctions conclusion unless prior arrangements have been made with me. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! This means you’re not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the vehicle later (you’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends). If you do decide to have the truck shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're Ebay's preferred transporter and have a link attached to the Ebay Motors. The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, WA) to get an instant on-line quote from their website. As an alternative you may also want bids from contractors on the U-ship.com site. Transporters will bid on delivery of the truck and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. The Ford can be kept free of charge at our location for up to 14 days after the auction concludes assuming full payment has been made. After that time we charge $15 per day storage. The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. ONLY if you live here in Washington State we’ll need to collect the 9.8% sales tax, title preparation, transfer and registration fees (this means if you’re from out-of-state any licensing fees & taxes are paid where you live).
