1971 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS LS5 454To start off, this is one of the nicest 1971 chevelle ss ls5's in existance. The car is completely numbers matching and been fully concours restored! There are 49,XXX original miles that are documented. Included are two REAL build sheets, and owner history from new!. The vehicle has the original engine, transmission, and rear end. This Chevelle has been professionally frame off restored. The original owner purchased it as a second car. The car has never had rust anywhere, no patch panels, no welding and no excuses. The panel gaps and fit are better then new. The blue paint is show quality, there are about three touch ups that are smaller then half an inch. The stripes are correct d all the trim has been polished. The original bumpers have been show chromed. All emblems are new. The doors close better then new, there is no sagging or misalignment. The rocker trim is not correct, it was added by the dealer when the car was new and left that way during restoration. Original operating cowl induction hood. It would be impossible to find a better straighter body! INTERIORThe bench seat and rear seat were professionally re covered using reproduction covers. Door panels, dash pad, headliner, and carpet are original. All gauges work including the clock. The original AM 8 track player has been rebuilt and works correctly. The car has the original tilt column that is tight. The dash on the car is original, the chrome on the dash is in good condition but could be redone to match the quality of the rest of the car. There is a half inch crack on the drivers door rest. As you might know reproductions are no where close to the originals so they were left in. Non stock oil pressure gauge installed by original own so it was left in. The oil line is hidden so it cannot easily be seen. ENGINE / DRIVETRAINAll original to the car. The block has been decked. The engine prefix is visible (CPA) as well as some of the VIN. Enough to ensure the engine is the one the car was born with. The original owner had warranty problems with the engine early on and the dealer repair blocked the oil pump resulting in a total blue printing of the engine. The original trans has been rebuilt. The rear end has been rebuilt. The car has A/C that blows ice cold. The radiator is a reproduction harrison unit. The transmission is the original M22 close ratio"rock crusher" 4 speed. See the numbers section for all the details on all the original engine related components. The engine compartment has been show detailed, that means no quick spray bomb. Core support, wheelhouses, valve covers, hindges, hood latch, plus more have been powder coated. New harness. All correct hoses, clamps, belts, bolts, date spark plug wires, correct air cleaner, and on and on. Bone stock! CHASSISShow detailed, I would be comfortable eating off it, thats how clean it is! New front end with american made parts. Wheels have been powder coated, correct reproduction tires and shocks. All new lines. The floors, frame and trunk are perfect factory examples. Never rusted or welded on. Correct chassis markings and decals. Reproduction exhaust with mufflers and resonators. TRUNKOriginal spare on powder coated original wheel. Rear speakers have original enclosures, brackets and wing nuts. OTHERThe vehicle has the original power beam headlights. The cowl induction hood works as it should. The windows roll down and up as original, all electronics work. The car drives straight and is tight and rattle free! CONCLUSIONI am not a Chevelle export., however I do know that a documented low milage bench seat 4 speed A/C car is unusual if not rare!This car has been meticulously restored and would only need a very few minor things to be considered perfect!
